About the Africa Southeast Asia Chamber of Commerce (ASEACC):Based in Singapore, the Africa Southeast Asia Chamber of Commerce is the first chamber of commerce focused on building high-level business relationships between Africa and Southeast Asia regions. Corporate members from Southeast Asia include major Singapore multinational firms across different sectors such as Pacific International Lines (PIL), OLAM, Wilmar, and CrimsonLogic.Website: www.africasea.orgPosition: Operations Intern and Office Assistant (CEO office) - Aug-Oct 2024What you will learnYou will support the day-to-day work of the Secretary-General/CEO\'s office in terms of being an office administrative assistant, helping in member management, finance, operations and administration, coordination of meetings, website and social media updating, namecards and email marketing, running errands, filing, record keeping and miscellaneous office work.Learning opportunitiesDuring the internship, you will be exposed to a wide variety of learning opportunities, such as:1. Learn digital tools and skills which improve the operational performance of an organisation- Emailing skills and digital marketing over channels such as Whatsapp, Email and LinkedIn- Website management (WIX)2. Be exposed to networking, events, international relations, and develop a global multi-cultural mindsetDepending on your workload, aptitude, and after your probation period of 2 months, you may also be exposed to similar duties in other companies, businesses, and get to learn about other industries and sectors.General dutiesDigital Assets Management: Manage online databases, mailing lists and learn digital assets management such as websites and social media admin.Website and LinkedIn: Daily web articles on LinkedIn page; upload news and articles on website using WIXName-cards and Mailing lists: Scan, data-entry, and filing of name cards; Export contacts to a mailing list; Send out emails using MailChimp or any other mass marketing application; Send out and write thank you notesPreparation of PowerPoint slides: Support and prepare PowerPoint presentation slides in areas related to business, economy, general researchMeetings, Calendering and Scheduling: Manage and schedule calendaring and schedule; Arrange for video and audio callsProcurement, Budgeting and Finance: Scanning of receipts; maintaining proper finance records; purchase of office supplies, equipmentExposure to business networking & seminars (where possible): Attend networking conferences and seminars organised by business partners such as Singapore Business Federation and Enterprise SingaporeYour expected competencies and background requirementsAcademic background: Candidates can be from any academic background (JC/ITE/Polytechnic/University) with any of the following disciplines i.e. operations, administration, secretarial, business, logistics, marketingIMPORTANT - Highly attentive to details, meticulous to tasks, well-organised, good writing skillsAttitude: Humble, adaptable, open, flexible, willing to learnSkillset requirements- Knowledge of WIX - You can learn on the job- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, ChatGPT- Language: Proficiency in BAHASA, and/or FRENCH is a bonusOnsite/dress codeFull time in office. No work from home. This is not a virtual remote role.Dress code: office relaxed, casual - jeans and t-shirts permissible but no slippers, singlets, bermudas, shorts.
