We are looking for a passionate and professional Research Officer to join our Market Research Unit team. Based in Singapore and reporting into the Senior Manager, the incumbent will plan and conduct field research activities to manage and counter illegal betting activities in SPPL\'s live betting venues. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

  • You will execute and conduct field research activities and enforcement operations including information collation, analysis, and reports.
  • You will manage and perform field research activities via the Anti-Booking CCTV (ABC) Room in SPPL\xe2\x80\x99s HQ and live betting venues.
  • You will ensure field research and enforcement operations to counter illegal betting activities are conducted ethically and professionally
  • You will maintain, update, and protect the Customers Blacklist database and ensure strict compliance with its related policies.
  • You will work with internal stakeholders to manage and counter illegal betting activities in SPPL\xe2\x80\x99s live betting venues.
  • When assigned, you will serve as point of contact with external stakeholders, e.g., law enforcement agencies, and to facilitate any external agency-led investigations related to illegal betting activity within or in the vicinity of Singapore Pools\xe2\x80\x99 live betting venue.
  • You will maintain working relationships with external stakeholders, e.g., enforcement agencies, with the objective to understand and mitigate illegal bookmaking activities, especially those with direct impact on Singapore Pools\xe2\x80\x99 mission.
  • You will review and propose relevant SPPL\xe2\x80\x99s policy and strategy relating to the management of illegal betting activity in its live betting venues, including the management of the Customers Blacklist database and its related policies.
  • You will review, recommend and take practical actions against customers in SPPL premises who are determined to engage in an activity affecting the good name and/or interest of SPPL
  • You will submit regular monitoring reports and recommendations to SPPL\xe2\x80\x99s management team.

Who You Are
  • You will need at least a GCE \xe2\x80\x98A\xe2\x80\x99 or \'O\' Level or Diploma education
  • You will need at least 3 years of work experience in investigation and/or intelligence field, including demonstrated experience in planning intelligence projects and field research operations
  • A valid Police Licensing Regulatory Department license and experience in related field of responsibilities is a plus
  • You should be able to handle challenging or dynamic situations in the field, including but not limited to management of uncooperative customers to mitigate risks of violence
  • You should have working knowledge of criminal law and regulations relating to illegal betting and gambling, both terrestrial and remote means
  • You have demonstrated ability to work independently and have good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • You should be proficient in English (spoken and written), with proficiency in second language a plus
  • You should have basic proficiency with technology platforms like MS Office and mobile applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram
