JOB SUMMARY * Knowledge, skills and expertise in assorted French pastries, cakes, pies, and speciality items. Must be able to produce \xe2\x80\x98quality\xe2\x80\x99 items with efficiency and perfection.

• Produce pastries, cakes, pies and speciality items according to inventories and estimates that are established.
• Be able to log production charts on a daily basis.
• Dispose of left over food items.
• Be able to make comparable decisions when necessary.
• Be able to produce quality items according to Marriott standards.
• Be able to teach and share knowledge and skills with others.
• Ensure that 39 Points Check List is being followed monthly.
• Assists the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in planning dessert menu, desserts for functions or any other special orders as required.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for all Bake Shop operations with full commitment to organize and run the operations effectively.

• Maintain proper sanitation procedures: \xe2\x80\x9cClean As You Go\xe2\x80\x9d, practice good housekeeping procedures for the entire work area, walk-in refrigerator, freezer, tables, bins, stoves, ovens, etc.
• Plans, directs, controls and co-ordinates the activities of all personnel engaged in preparing, baking, cooking, selling food and cleaning to ensure an efficient and smooth operation.
• All foods are to be dated, labelled, rotated, covered in designated refrigeration areas.
• Promotes and maintains effective communication between workers.
• See to it that the kitchen is always in a safe condition to prevent unnecessary accidents.
• Produce show pieces and buffet decorations out of chocolate and sugar for banquets and restaurants.
• Writes recipe cards and prepares dishes for photographing and keeps file.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Certificate in Pastry Skills.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Able to handle pressures.
• Strong in leadership skills.
• Able to demonstrate, train & motivate employees.
• Great interpersonal & communication skills.
• Able to start work within short notice period.
