Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals. It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.
Position Summary The Global Process Owner (GPO) function at Johnson & Johnson is focused on setting and managing the strategic agenda for the Payroll function, aligning stakeholders across the organization, changing behaviors, reinforcing cultural norms, and reinforcing the organizational brand across regions and functions. The GPO function leads end-to-end process communities (i.e. all stakeholders involved in the process) and governs end-to-end processes in alignment with functional and company policies. As owners of the end-to-end payroll process, the GPO has accountability for payroll projects to ensure they are adhering to the strategy and standards set globally. In addition to owning the end-to-end payroll process, the GPO is also focused on vendor management, driving process improvements, and establishing global/regional standards to the extent possible. Given that the New Consumer Health business will be standing up an all-new payroll function, it is anticipated that the primary focus for the GPO function initially will be process standardization, optimization, and automation opportunities designed to streamline the payroll input process with third party payroll vendors, as well as developing tools to help cluster payroll teams with data collection and audits/reconciliations of payroll data. The GPO Senior Analyst role will report into the GPO Director role and will work on a variety of tasks associated with the objectives outlined above. This will entail maintaining end-to-end processes globally, managing end-to-end process exceptions and governance process associated with exceptions, selecting performance metrics, and developing processes to collect and report on performance metrics. This role is expected to continuously analyze potential opportunities to improve payroll processes and to have a digital mindset, i.e. always looking for opportunities to leverage technology and digital capabilities to drive better outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end global payroll processes and support the management of the process exception governance process
  • Build digital capabilities to unlock process efficiencies and drive process standardization globally and regionally
  • Develop end-to-end digital capabilities in partnership with digital functional owners to enable intelligent automation
  • Facilitate adoption of various digital tools and drive continued used through training programs and targeted learning initiatives
  • Support GPO project managers with project prioritization, status reporting, and execution
  • Develop processes to collect and report on performance metrics, KPIs, and vendor SLAs associated with payroll processes
  • Support the GPO function on vendor management tasks
  • Communicate the overall strategic vision of the Payroll GPO function to a broad spectrum of stakeholders across the organization
  • Align key stakeholders across the organization on global process standards, advocate for behavior change (where appropriate), and reinforce cultural norms
  • Support the integration of payroll strategies as appropriate with other functions and departments

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • English language proficiency is required
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive business experience in payroll operations and/or in a process improvement role in a multi-national company is required; Both payroll operations and process improvement experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with payroll, HR, and timekeeping technologies (ADP, Kronos, eTime, Workday, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with third-party payroll providers preferred
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities, yet also detail-oriented
  • Digital mindset, i.e. knowledgeable about technology solutions to business problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact skillfully and confidently with internal stakeholders and colleagues to develop ideas, identify opportunities, and influence outcomes
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Experience working with stakeholders to analyze ambiguous problems and develop solutions to complex business problems
  • Knowledge of global payroll processes preferred; enough experience with process design and process improvements for a global function to quickly learn global payroll processes
  • Having a bias for action, being a self-starter, and skilled at learning new concepts quickly
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Toolset including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency with data management tools like Alteryx and Celonis, as well as automation software, like UI Path and Blue Prism preferred
  • Experience implementing technical solutions from business requirement to testing is preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Knowledge Management artifacts such as Desktop Procedures (DTPs) is preferred
  • Prior Experience with payroll processes, procedures, controls, regulations, and compliance is preferred
  • Exposure to shared services environment leveraging case management tools preferred. (i.e., experience with Salesforce)
  • Cultural awareness and an ability to work with a multitude of people globally required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, data protection assurance, conformity with J&J policies, procedures, external regulations, and agencies is required
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), PMP, or other designation is preferred
  • Approximately 15% global travel will be required
