People Operations Partner

Job Description

Who we are

--------------

Open Government Products (OGP)

operates like a startup within the government; We are a fast-paced, dynamic team of engineers, designers, and product managers dedicated to public good. We autonomously identify opportunities to solve public problems using tech, rapidly prototype, and launch solutions - from citizen apps to automating public agency operations. Embracing an open-sourced and flat hierarchy, we cut through bureaucracy to focus on real-world, user-centric innovations that drive change.

About the role

------------------

We're looking for a

People Operations Partner

who loves building structure, improving systems, and enabling the organisation to run smoothly behind the scenes. You'll be the backbone of our People function - ensuring every process from onboarding to performance is efficient, human, and scalable.

If you're someone who enjoys creating order from ambiguity, designing better ways of working, and using data and automation to drive smarter decisions - this role is for you.

What you will do

You'll take ownership of the systems, data, and processes that make OGP's people operations run like clockwork, while keeping the human touch in everything we do.

Lead HR Operations

Manage pre-employment clearance, onboarding setup & logistics, and employee lifecycle operations. Support the delivery of key HR programs (performance management, learning, engagement, etc.). Ensure data accuracy and compliance across all employee-related documentation and systems.

2. Partner on HR Initiatives and Projects

Work closely with the People team to co-create and execute initiatives that improve employee experience. Provide operational support for organisation-wide programs such as performance reviews and talent calibration. Act as a bridge between people operations and functional teams to ensure smooth delivery

3. Drive Process Improvement and Automation

Continuously improve efficiency through automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Google Suite, Notion). Redesign manual workflows into lightweight, scalable systems.
Document and simplify recurring HR processes for self-service and consistency.

4. Manage People Policies and Documentation

Build and maintain a well-organised knowledge base (Notion / Google Drive) of people policies, guidelines, and templates. Ensure clarity and accessibility of information for all employees. Support People Ops communications (e.g. HR announcements, onboarding guides, FAQs).

5. People Data Dashboard

Design and build a dashboard to track people metrics (such as hiring velocity, attrition, engagement, performance outcomes, and team health data, etc) with our in-house internal tooling team. Maintain and update the people data dashboard on a regular basis. Translate data into insights that help us make evidence-based decisions about hiring, performance, and culture. Partner with HRBPs and leaders to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

You're the Right Person We're Looking For If You

Have 3-6 years of HR operations or people analytics experience, ideally in a tech or startup-like environment. Enjoy solving problems through structure, process design, and automation. Are meticulous with details, yet thoughtful about user experience. Are data-savvy -- comfortable turning numbers into insights and actions. Communicate clearly, proactively, and can partner well across functions. Thrive in environments with autonomy and ambiguity, taking ownership from idea to execution.

We'd love if you have (but if you don't, we'll be happy to develop you)

Experience building dashboards using tools like Google Data Studio, Looker, or Tableau. Familiarity with automation tools (Zapier, Make, or equivalent). Exposure to HR systems (e.g. BambooHR, Notion, GSuite workflows). Interest in people analytics, employee experience design, or organisational effectiveness.
