Job Description



The Principal/Lead Service Designer, in the Group Integrated Care (GIC) team of the National Healthcare Group (NHG), is responsible for researching the needs and behaviour of residents, and their responses to particular experiences, to create or improve products and services, as part of NHG's transformational population health initiatives, aimed at improving the well-being and health of the 1.5 million residents in the Central and North of Singapore.

The work is dynamic, with opportunities to work across a wide range of areas including product, process, engagement and digitalisation. The designer will be engaged in working with diverse groups and persons - health institutions and professionals across the whole cluster and the wider healthcare sector, as well as partners and residents in the community. There will also be opportunities to work and collaborate with other design professionals in the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI).

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage existing and emerging Service Design methods and tools like design research, service blueprinting, ecosystem mapping, ideation methods, prioritisation, rapid prototyping, storyboarding, and frame working to strategically define ideal experiences.
  • Uncover user needs through research, develop deep insights, generate concepts, and craft how people will interact with the products and services we design.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • Establish relationships with cross-functional partners and constantly bring stakeholders along the design journey, leveraging diverse perspectives and skillsets.
  • Evangelise and teach service design methods and tooling to cross-functional stakeholders, and creating champions and advocates across the organisation.
  • Define and create tangible expressions of new value propositions and strategies through visual and verbal storytelling to share your discoveries, gather and integrate feedback, influence stakeholders, and create energy for an idea or initiative.
Skills:
  • Creative problem solver and passionate about Healthcare Innovation and Design.
  • A self-starter mind set and an ability to work with ambiguity and make things happen.
  • Able to translate complex ideas and situations to clear and understandable information for stakeholders.
  • Able to lead and conduct co-creation design workshops.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Keen learner in or familiar with advanced / emerging complementary disciplines (e.g. Behavioural Science, Service Design, or Content Design).
Job Requirement:
  • A portfolio that highlights a strong understanding of Service Design, including (but not limited to): service blueprints, user flows, journey mapping, system maps and translating customer research, analytics and insights into visual artifacts
  • 7+ years' experience leading Service Design methods and processes with multi-disciplinary teams to produce holistic experiences and execute on experience strategies
  • Knowledge and experience within a relevant design discipline (System Design, Business Design, Organisational Design, UX/Interaction Design).
  • Experience planning and facilitating in-person and virtual workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience creating service and product prototypes to test design concepts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate your design decisions with the team through compelling storytelling and visual presentations.
  • A degree in design or a relevant field
This is a 2-Year Contract with extension and conversion possibilities
