While individual consumer choices are important, over 80% of all the emissions reductions necessary for the world to reach Net-Zero, require business-level action. But despite the growing momentum and ambition from companies around the world to set Net-Zero goals, there are significant challenges to delivering on these ambitions. Business leaders don\'t really know how they will get there. And the very first step, of getting emissions measurement right, is hard.

Terrascope is a smart carbon management and accounting platform that empowers corporations to decarbonise their operations, portfolios and supply chains in a trusted, confident, and secure manner. We are on a journey to build digital tools and analytics, datasets and algorithms, and an ecosystem of technical expertise and partnerships needed for companies to optimise their climate strategy.

The Service Designer will report into our Experience Design Lead and it will have a key role in envisioning and shaping Terrascope experiences across multiple touch points. You will collaborate with product, commercial, and support teams, and many more to build solutions that enable companies and sustainability practitioners to start and continue their journey to net zero.

In this role you will:

  • Plan and drive customer research; have an understanding of various research instruments from ethnographic study to data analytics, be able to uncover actionable insights and create service experiences that work in both digital and physical environments
  • Build and maintain Terrascope\'s end-to-end experience; map existing customer journeys to design vision-oriented experiences, see problems in all dimensions and understand the details within the big picture, lead multiple teams to accomplish a service design goal
  • Prototype ideas rapidly to test and learn; collaborate closely across teams to build service or product prototypes and pilot programs, test and gather feedback while iterating constantly to create seamless customer experiences
  • Be a champion for great design; actively develop a positive, productive and passionate design culture within Terrascope, represent the design team externally, through active exchange with the design industry, helping build our network and thought leadership
  • Be an advocate of the Terrascope platform
  • Be a subject-matter expert on our product strategy, roadmap, and features, and use your knowledge to equip our customer success and marketing team to deliver compelling content and campaigns
  • Stay up-to-date with the competition and category innovations, to inform new ideas to enhance the Terrascope platform
  • Develop a deep understanding of climate change, and how better corporate practices and innovative climate solutions (such as Terrascope) can make all the difference
  • You have a curiosity for climate science and technology, and an understanding of how advancing corporate practices and innovative climate solutions (such as Terrascope) can make all the difference.
You should have:
  • Experience in enterprise solution or employee experience design
  • Strong command of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Experience working closely with multi-disciplinary teams across design, product, data science and engineering
  • Adept at communicating and prototyping services rapidly with different media and tools
  • A deep knowledge of design-led approaches including design thinking, service blueprint, co-creation workshop, etc.
  • Excellent command of the English language and storytelling skills
  • Experience with interaction, visual and product design
  • A diverse portfolio that shows your knack for tackling all sorts of design challenges across the end-to-end customer journey
  • Ideally you already have some knowledge on sustainability, ESG, climate change and climate action
  • A people first mindset that translates to a passion for observing, testing and co-creating with customers and other business functions
  • A strong (and a little nerdy?) interest in how software products work and excited to go deep into the climate and sustainability domain, combined with a growth mindset
  • Entrepreneurial, wanting take responsibility, to move fast, and launch and learn and iterate
  • A strong desire to work cross-functionally team members in other disciplines such as product, design, data science, engineering, customer success, tech support and more
Even better if you are:
  • A Japanese speaker
  • An entrepreneurial problem solver comfortable in managing risk and ambiguity
  • A self-starter with a growth-mindset and proactiveness in working independently to drive toward results
  • Have experience designing digital products for the North Asia market (e.g. Japan)
