THE OPPORTUNITY: As the Regional Commercial Leader, you will report to the AVP, International Commercial Operations (ICO), and dotted line to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in AP. You will be responsible for the company's portfolio of vaccines in the AP Region. (You can work from Singapore or any other market in the region) What will you do: Drives Results & Strategy:
  • You will support country teams and share accountability for the growth and performance of the entire in-line vaccines portfolio. Drive sustainable and profitable growth for the vaccines business in the short and long run.
  • You will build an ambitious vision for vaccines in alignment with the global strategy based on a deep understanding of the AP market dynamics. You will be accountable for the growth and performance of the product portfolio, adopting a long-term view on how to maximize total potential opportunity & profitability.
  • You will defend our leadership position and mitigate the risks from existing and emerging competition through value demonstration, strategic partnerships, and proactive counter-strategies.
  • You will support our future pipeline through launch readiness planning, advocacy building, data generation, and accurate forecasting. Lead the regional integrated 5Y strategy for the portfolio and the regional cross-functional team. Adapts the global approach to address challenges and opportunities specific to the region, considering all drivers of product performance and the strategic shifts toward digital, value evidence, and patient-focused customer experience.
  • You will recommend prioritisation, resource allocation, capabilities development needs, and multi-country initiatives, coordinating planning efforts across products within the franchise and countries within AP.
  • You will coach countries in deploying Marketing Strategic Framework, developing country-specific strategies, and supporting the efforts to commercialize and grow the portfolio in line with the country's financial performance objectives. Lead Regional Commercial Team (RCT), composed of cross-functional team members (Policy, Medical, Market Access, CORE, and Communication).
  • Establish and monitor product KPIs encompassing business and customer experience. Regularly reviews performance with countries, the regional CMO, and global brand leaders.
Ensure Execution :
  • Lead regional strategic workstreams, as prioritised by regional LT to fortify our future. Develop and executes franchise-critical pan-region activities in the scientific, marketing, and commercial fields.
  • Lead the Consumer Activation Hub and develops to-scale marketing campaigns. Executes in-market through selected partner agencies.
  • Ensure appropriate promotional budget planning together with finance. Lead outside-In Perspective to understand the interplay across the healthcare ecosystem in the country, driving improvement in patient outcomes and customer experience.
  • Identify emerging solutions & best practices that are most suited to help reach 5YP ambition and leads the scale-up approach and planning, bringing in Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) when needed, monitoring progress & impact.
  • Ensure involvement of priority markets in significant regional and HQ initiatives to ensure adequate local support.
  • Support the Digital, Data, and Analytics (DDnA) transformation by working with the digital regional team & Commercial Ops Directors to improve countries' DDnA maturity.
  • Support where necessary agile ways of working and mindset to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Lead cross-functional team to implement integrated plans to help differentiate our products and support regional commercial opportunities. Enhances support for markets in circumstances where the resources do not exist locally.
Builds Talent and Capabilities:
  • Coach local Business Unit Directors (BUDs) and Product Managers (PMs) on marketing, digital, and sales functional competencies, cross-functional teamwork and collaboration, and sales & operations.
  • Deploy region-wide training programs & tools to strengthen & develop local capabilities for market development, launch readiness, competitiveness & DDnA
  • Coordinate support of subject matter experts from the region & global as needed to support countries' capabilities development.
  • Work across the enterprise (HQ and Regional) to leverage capabilities that can enhance performance in AP or build (pilot) capabilities that are needed to improve performance
  • Demonstrate ownership of compliance by ensuring all activities abide by the compliance guidelines and the individual local regulations in the AP markets
Supports Commercial Operations:
  • Provide input to Business Development and supports deal execution in collaboration with relevant functions (manufacturing, regulatory, etc.).
  • Support regional Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and provides input for global S&OP and supply allocation decisions.
  • Act as a critical link with global pricing teams to translate pricing strategies to local markets.
Strong Connection with Global:
  • Input into global Brand strategy and ICO to effectively represent the opportunities and risks of countries in the AP region.
  • Lead ongoing update of the global franchise team on AP countries status and initiatives to support prioritization of supply and resources needs.
  • Share best practices/lessons learned with global functions across the region and ensures appropriate deployment of customer solutions, commercial innovation, and digital capabilities to support growth objectives.
What should you have:
  • You should have a BA/BS degree from an accredited university. Preferred: MBA degree from an accredited university with a minimum 7 years of marketing or commercial experience with a preferred background in consumer marketing and strategic consulting.
  • You are considered a strong candidate for Managing Director or large market Business Unit Director roles.
  • You have excellent marketing and commercial experience, coupled with a strong understanding of / experience in, market access, policy, digital, and value evidence generation with strong business and financial acumen and strong analytical abilities.
  • You are capable of translating strategy into action plans and drive successful execution.
  • You are a successful project manager and have a track record of leading projects to timely completion.
  • You are an excellent leader and have the ability to collaborate across the organization and with various stakeholders. You are an influencer who can achieve results without direct line authority.
  • You are capable of operating in a multicultural environment and show interest and understanding of cultural differences.
  • You have strong communication skills. Experience leading matrix structures and personnel, knowledge of Marketing approach, launch excellence, market access, digital, and value evidence—demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to drive strategic choices and implementation plans supporting business goals.
  • You have understanding and application of company policies, compliance, operations, and change management.
Preferred:
  • 3 plus years of marketing or commercial experience in Vaccines.
  • Country or prior regional expertise.
  • Launch and LOE experience.
  • Strong digital and omnichannel experiences, preferably in consumer marketing.
  • Experience in Agile ways of working.
  • Experience in customer experience design and journey mapping
