The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of the payroll function in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, and India. The Payroll Manager will provide leadership to the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, provide resolution on payroll questions to employees, research payroll tax issues, work with third-party payroll processors to resolve issues, and look at streamlining workflows. The Payroll Manager will collaborate with accounting, human resources, and technology teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of global payrolls for approximately 1.4K associates in 10 countries and locations across the globe.
  • Provide oversight, support, and guidance to team members processing the monthly payroll for Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, China, and India
  • Final validation and approval of payroll for all APAC countries
  • Manage and liaise with vendors for monthly payroll processing and statutory contributions
  • Works closely with the HR department, US Payroll, and Technology to ensure employee records and other required information in the company's payroll system are updated timely and accurately.
  • Work with government organizations for respective regions and perform monthly submissions accordingly
  • Perform and/or review payroll journal entries and reconciliations
  • Subject matter expert on statutory/retirement/gratuity contributions and accounting treatment in each country. Provide consultation on tax matters or any statutory deductions for respective countries.
  • Advise on the requirements for new jurisdictions and country payrolls with legal and in-country payroll processor guidance and implement payrolls for new entities
  • Streamline and create process and procedure and controls consistency across all countries
  • Participate in global payroll implementation of the implementation of a new global payroll system
  • Train and maintain backup plans for payroll administration - which may involve cross-country training in the processes
  • Supervise and mentor staff
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven track record in payroll operations with at least 5 years in a payroll shared services environment in leading country-level or in-house regional payroll projects and teams
  • Excellent in payroll processes, procedures, and statutory regulations and with a leading role in payroll system implementation regionally
  • Comprehensive understanding of local cross-border payroll calculations and familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks regionally
  • Ideally experience with retail payroll environments or similar, utilizing different payroll and HR systems such as Oracle
  • Strong vendor management and project management skills to lead and drive vendors to provide desired payroll and benefit solutions and deliverables
  • Adaptability to changing environments, collaboration, and influence team members and stakeholders to achieve operational effectiveness and efficiency in the region
  • Strong command of English and presentation skills, preferably with an additional language skill to be able to support stakeholders in overseas countries.
