Job Description

Exciting regional sales role in the Resins & Coatings industry for Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Role

The RSM reports to the Director Sales India & SEA/Oceania. It is essential that the RSM has direct experience in developing sales in the Resins & Coatings industry, in Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The RSM is expected to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in the region. The ability to drive results with other departments (e.g. product managers, customer service, innovation, etc.) is important. The role requires a strategic mind, and the ability to develop business plans for the region. Having the ability to coach other team members in the region will be a good plus for the role.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Build and manage strong relationships with customers within assigned sales regions. Drive profitability and long-term value of these accounts.
  • Work to deliver the agreed budget both on volumes & marginal contribution.
  • Collaborating with the Director Sales to establish & execute sales goals.
  • Act as the main contact for assigned customers.
  • Drive overall focus on customer needs together with other colleagues.
  • Identify new customers & new opportunities in existing markets as well as new markets.
  • Build knowledge of application areas specific to your top 10 customers and use this knowledge to grow your business.
Job Requirement
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other Science/Engineering subjects.
  • 10 to 15 years of sales experience in the chemical / relevant industry.
  • Experience in handling sales in Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. Experience in managing other countries in SEA is an advantage.
  • Proven record of sales and profit growth.
  • Key Account and Channel Management experience.
  • Experience in serving resin/coating, polymer, and synthetic lubricants industries.
  • Sound commercial knowledge such as shipping line/payment terms.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and matrix organization
  • Excellent sales drive, have a can-do attitude, and a team player
  • Proactive and able to work independently to drive results
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Strategic thinking: business today vs. business tomorrow
  • Able to travel regularly in the SEA region.
