Project Title: Investigating the psychosocial factors associated with early childhood educator well-being in Singapore
Project Introduction:
The purpose of the proposed study is to identify key psychosocial factors associated with early childhood educator (ECE) well-being in Singapore. It aligns with NIE\xe2\x80\x99s LIFE@NIE SG key strategic growth area related to child and human development, with implications for teacher education and professional development. Moreover, findings from the proposed research have translational potential and can inform future programmes, interventions, and policies related to teacher well-being, which is an increasing priority of the Singapore government (Goh & Yip, 2021). All these can support the retention of EC professionals and improve the sustainability of the early childhood education.
The study proposes using a sequential mixed-method longitudinal approach to explore the extent to which sociodemographic, psychological, and organizational factors contribute to well-being and burnout among Singapore ECEs. The design includes two phases with quantitative surveys in Phase 1 and qualitative interviews in Phase 2.
