STATEMENT OF PURPOSE To assist researchers in performing bench work research for PI initiated research projects. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (A) SPECIFIC (100%) * Perform bench work research STATEMENT OF PURPOSE To assist researchers in performing bench work research for PI initiated research projects. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (A) SPECIFIC (100%) Perform bench work research using DNA, RNA and protein based molecular genetic techniques in accordance to prescribed work procedures. This includes DNA sequencing, genotyping, cloning, transformation, transfection and gene expression studies. Systematic filing and maintenance of work procedures and research results. Analyse lab results and perform literature review. Maintain and track stock level of lab equipment and supplies. Maintain and coordinate repair of lab equipment and instrumentation. Process and store bio-specimen. Regularly check and ensure specimens are stored at correct temperature to ensure proper storage. Ensure that bio-hazardous materials are disposed safely in accordance to hospital regulations. Maintain and ensure a clean and safe lab environment and workplace. Participation in department's education program / Journal Club. Maintenance of study database. Assist Principal Research Officer/ Senior Research Officer with administrative work. JOB REQUIREMENTS (A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Minimum with Diploma or Degree in Life Sciences, preferably with at least 2 years' relevant experience in molecular genetic techniques and research Yishun Health is a network of medical institutions and health facilities of the National Healthcare Group in the north of Singapore.
