The incumbent will be on a tissue-engineering team and will be expected to be involved in research on primary human corneal stromal cells, and conjunctival epithelial and fibroblasts, and to perform m The incumbent will be on a tissue-engineering team and will be expected to be involved in research on primary human corneal stromal cells, and conjunctival epithelial and fibroblasts, and to perform molecular diagnostics. He / She will assist the lead investigators and clinicians in the execution of the project(s). He/ She will be expected but not limited to: Responsibilities: Manage the purchase of laboratory equipment, consumables, and reagents. Assist Principal Investigators in preparing research reports and in publishing research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing. Perform culture of primary human corneal stromal cells, and conjunctival epithelial and fibroblasts. Perform immunofluorescence staining, ELISA, PCR, and flow cytometry. Training will be provided to ease the incumbentinto the job. Perform animal work Occasionally, the incumbent will be expected to perform tissue sectioning and histological staining. Ensure compliance with health and safety and other requirements for the proper functioning of the laboratory. Requirements: Bachelors in Biotechnology/Life Sciences or related Expertise in aseptic cell culture techniques is critical to this job Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills Good to have, but not essential: Experience with confocal microscopy, experience with molecular biology techniques and/or experience in flow cytometry and ELISA
