Job Description


Location: Singapore The Sales Compensation Operations Analyst at Splunk is responsible for managing day to day operational implementation and support of Sales Compensation for the GTM organization. The role will work cross-functionally with several organizations (including Sales leadership, Sales Operations, Finance, HR, Legal), with the primary objective of supporting sales with mentorship on sales compensation plans and policies. The Sales Compensation Operations Analyst acts as the subject matter expert on opportunity data and crediting at the transaction level in support the sales commission process. The ideal candidate will be highly data driven, intellectually curious, a fast learner, and able to move quickly while keeping focused on high impact projects with limited direction and supervision. In addition, the Sales Compensation Operations Analyst will play a key role in the fiscal year compensation planning process to ensure that plans and processes are in alignment with corporate and regional strategies and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a teammate who is able to consistently execute on tasks, enjoy solving problems, and view challenges as opportunities to enhance skill-set and improve processes.   • Be a key contact and trusted advisor to Splunk’s sales team on compensation plans, policies, and processes as they apply to specific transactions
  • Understand and analyze opportunity data to provide guidance to Sales Organization on how it correlates to commissions.
  • Manage compensation case queue for requests submitted by Splunk’s sales team.
  • Apply sales territory and quota data to generate and administer compensation plans for the Go To Market organization
  • Serve as subject matter expert on opportunity data to provide accurate and consistent data for sales commissions process.
  • Find opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to streamline compensation processes
  • Provide analysis of complex sales transactions and make recommendations regarding treatment in accordance with compensation policies.
  • Lead a monthly process to review transaction in support of the sales commissions process.
  • Assist on special projects to improve and enhance Splunk’s Sales Incentive Program
  • Ad hoc project to support company initiatives.
Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
  • 5+ years of experience working in a sales compensation and/or sales operations role with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of industry standard compensation plan structures in enterprise software (quotas, accelerators, pay mix, and on-target earnings)
  • Ability to partner, collaborate, and influence across a wide spectrum of functions that are part of the incentive compensation management process
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate efforts and drive toward execution
  • Polished communication and presentation skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership for projects and drive to completion
  • Experience with building reports, interpreting data, and presenting results
  • Experience working with CRM and Compensation systems (SFDC, Xactly, Anaplan)
  • Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment and manage a high workload

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, MBA a plus
