Key responsibilities:
Compiles three year sales plan & cost budgets and agrees with the VP/Country Managing Director. Communicates the plan to relevant teams and ensures it is on target through regular reviews. Gives direction to the sales network, translating departmental KPI\'s into targets.
Regular communication with and influencing of relevant sales network and external contacts to manage the business in the market area.
Responsible for increasing sales and gross margin of the business in line with objectives and strategic plan. Has the autonomy and authority for local pricing / margin decisions within set limits and significant input at key customers in the territory that may have a large impact on the profits of the business & Croda International as a whole.
Integral part of the process which determines the strategy for the market areas for the next 1-3 years and communicates the plans back to the relevant parties.
The majority of role holders will be expected to manage the Sales team through setting objectives and targets, managing under performance, carrying out appraisals, implementing bonus schemes and advising on pay reviews. They are also responsible for succession planning and identifying training needs. Some role holders will not have direct line management but will be expected to coach and support individuals in the sales network.
Manages territory priorities and appropriate routes to market. Supports identification of new trends and markets which will impact future performance and requirements for the business. Provides commercial guidance on product support and new product developments which will impact future performance and profitability of the business.
Decisions & judgements which vary in complexity are often taken under time pressure and in an environment of incomplete information. Issues may relate to opportunities/problems of internal and external commercial and regulatory issues as well as technical, customer, production, agent/distributor and intercompany problems.
Expected to improve the efficiency of sales systems and procedures.
Expected to work closely and across sales, marketing and technical team members to outline and execute the near to long term business plan to achieve growth for the business. Provides overall leadership to the Home Care Asia business.
To participate in pricing, regional alignment meetings, global monthly meetings. Meetings include sales specific, and also across multiple functions such as sales, marketing, technical, regulatory etc.
