About the Company JERA Global Markets (JERAGM) is a leading utility-backed seaborne energy trader specialising in LNG, Coal and Freight with a platform to trade across all key markets (North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia). JERAGM is a joint venture between majority shareholder JERA Inc. (JERA) and EDF Trading. JERAGM operates one of the largest seaborne energy portfolios in the world which gives us an in-depth understanding of the way local, regional and international energy markets behave. These insights enable us to help our customers increase security of supply, optimise their portfolios and improve the risk management of their assets. JERAGM LNG team manages the flexibility of over 35 million tonnes of supply each year, with structural access to both the European and North American gas markets. The coal team manages 60 million tonnes of supply each year for its shareholders and third-party customers and operates a major coal terminal in the Netherlands. The commercial hub of the company is in Singapore, with offices located in Japan (Tokyo), the UK (London) and the US (Baltimore).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Description Within JERAGM, the Credit function is responsible for all aspects of credit risk management including pre-deal counterparty assessments, counterparty KYC and sanctions checking, contractual and credit support negotiations, portfolio credit exposure management (including mitigation), default probability assessments, and credit risk capital assessments.
As a global trading business, JERAGM has counterparty exposure in Asia, EMEA, the U.S., and Latin America. The quality of our counterparties ranges from large, listed utilities and global trading companies to small single ship owning organisations. Trading relationships range from bilateral commodity sales and purchases to complex structured transactions with SPVs (IPPs for example).
The current position will be located in JERAGM’s Singapore headquarter. The Credit Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk seating in Singapore.
Key Role Responsibilities As part of the Credit & KYC team, the Credit Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and analysing new and existing counterparties - writing full credit analyses to identify risks and recommend credit ratings, limits, credit structure and contractual terms to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk and/or Executive Management
  • Modelling potential credit exposure of new and existing transactions;
  • Helping the KYC Analyst in completing KYC and AML checks and ensure adherence to JERAGM’s Compliance Policy;
  • Managing relationship with Front Office (originators & traders) and ensure commercial and credit risk interests are understood and reconciled;
  • Monitoring, understanding, managing and reporting counterparty credit exposures (individual and portfolio) on daily basis to ensure trading activity remains within approved limits;
  • Negotiating credit terms and covenants in commodity trading agreement (Long-form, MSPA, SCoTA, ISDA…) as well as credit supports (letters of credit, parent company guarantee, insurances…) directly with counterparties, guarantors, banks,… in collaboration with JERAGM Legal and Origination teams;
  • Regularly reviewing dedicated markets and sectors to identify events that could impact the credit portfolio and identify actions to mitigate risks;
  • Computing and reporting key credit risk indicators (credit reserves, credit risk capital…) to Executive Management and shareholders on a monthly basis;
  • Maintaining the credit system updated and ensuring integrity and accuracy of data;
  • Contributing to the development of new policies, quantitative credit risk frameworks and IT tools.


QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • Around 4-6 years of experience in a credit analyst position gained within a commodities trading environment or financial institution;
  • Professional experience on energy products, particularly Coal, Drybulk freight, LNG and/or LNG freight, will be a strong advantage;
  • Professional experience in negotiating contractual and credit documentations will be a strong advantage;

Technical
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification;
  • Excellent financial, qualitative and credit analysis skills;
  • Good negotiation skills and understanding of contractual framework;
  • Knowledge of Coal, LNG and Freight products;
  • Understanding of KYC and AML processes and requirements is a plus;
  • Fluency in English – both written and verbal compulsory;
  • Fluency in another language will be a strong advantage;
