Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Digital Product Designer to inspire and set the vision of our growing Digital Product Team, support our clients in defining the interactions between the User and the product/service across different moments of the experience and through different touchpoints.

Digital Product Designers should be able to identify the problems and needs of the project by assessing the user's needs, business goals and technological realities, be able to generate creative solutions and concepts to solve these problems. They design for the interaction between people and service throughout the whole experience, across channels, and at different touchpoints that go well beyond the classical understanding and interactions to which PCs, smartphone and web have accustomed us. As part of Digital Product Design Team, you will work under the responsibility of the Digital Product Design Director, often within a multidisciplinary team. In your role, you will be autonomous in making operational decisions together with your teammates and you will be responsible for the work you will deliver as a team.

Tasks

What you'll do:

  • Interact directly with Clients and Stakeholders clients (there are no PMs most of the time), to understand their needs and plan the projects scope.
  • Follow the complete lifecycle of a design project, from drafting the initial proposal to managing the resources and making sure that the best possible results are delivered on time.
  • Understand users through interviews, observations, workshops (online or in person) and generate the requirements for the product with an eye also on the business and technical needs.
  • Generate design solutions, from the initial sketches to the final interactive prototype.
  • Test the solutions with users to validate or find ways to improve the design.
  • Present your designs to the team and Client, be able to communicate your research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Take part as a contributor to interdisciplinary project teams that includes a wide range of other designers (from industrial product designers to lighting designers, from CMF designers to food designers), project management, psychologists, mechanical engineers, business and brand strategists, and developers.
  • Follow the definition of the strategy on new projects, the activity plan, staffing, budget and the presentation of the offers.
  • Contribute to the growth of the team and to the mentorship of junior designers.
Requirements

What you'll bring:
  • At least 5 years of experience working on digital products.
  • Strong experience in managing design team and stakeholders.
  • Advanced design learning path (master's degree or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of users' needs, usability and accessibility standards, good eye for details and a passion for beautiful, coherent and clean User Interface Design.
  • Ability to understand and map complex business processes, and define strategies to introduce new digital tools in existing ecosystems.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English: we work with clients from all over the world, and our team is also made of people from different countries
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the necessary tools: we use Miro, Figma, Adobe CC, but you are free to use others if you need to achieve more specific tasks.
Nice to have:
  • Technical knowledge of the development process for web and mobile apps: you won't write any code, but you might have to talk to the developers and be able to do so in an efficient way.
  • Experience in creating and facilitating Design Thinking and co-creation workshops.
  • Ability to develop personal projects and strong curiosity for the design world.
  • Knowledge of Agile principles, values and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of other languages besides English.
