Our client is looking for a Senior / Electrical Design Engineer

The Role Reporting to the New Product Development Manager, the incumbent will be involved in Power supply systems and switching mode power supply development activities such as electrical circuit design, magnetic design, prototyping, evaluation and assisting manufacturing in BETA run of new products.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements to design or modify XP products to provide Added Value (AV) Solution based on our design criteria and procedures.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of all XP products to identify and select the most suitable product for Engineering Solution design.
• Design new products in timely manner to meet product specifications, modify existing designs, improve existing products for better performance and/or cost efficiencies.
• Propose AV or modified solutions based on sales/customer requirements.
• Perform product verification & validation test such as electrical performance, thermal, EMC and DVT to ensure products meet specifications before delivery to customers.
• Electrical circuit and schematic design.
• Embedded systems design both in hardware and software.
• Bill of materials (BOM) creation and documentation.
• Breadboard and prototype samples making and debugging.
• Ensure design of new solutions/products are within XP standard design practice and safety guidelines, keeping to agreed timescales and costs.
• Some travelling may be required to support customers and manufacturing sites, as well as for external training.

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or higher degree in a related engineering field.
• More than 3 years\' electrical design experience in power supply/power system; applicants with more than 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience will be considered for the senior position.
• Requirements for Senior position: Identify and review projects main tasks, schedules, and technical challenges to ensure timely project delivery. Good project management skills and capable of leading long-term structured problem-solving projects.
• Familiarity with PCB design using Altium/PADS.
• Firmware design knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Good communication, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills required to be successful in role.
• Other attributes required: hardworking, dynamic, strong sense of responsibility and a good team player.
