KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• The successful candidate is a fundamental investor with experience analysing and investing in companies. The successful candidate will join a small, cohesive, and high-performing Japan Equities team. The candidate must demonstrate a strong fit with the team, and ability to embrace the team's investment philosophy and process.
• This is an important role with a number of key responsibilities, including:
• Conduct in-depth analysis of potential investment candidates. This will include gaining a detailed understanding of the drivers of returns and valuations for the business in question and financial analysis based on detailed financial modelling.
• Present company and industry analysis to the team, and clearly articulate and debate the key drivers of the business and valuation.
• Actively engage in debates and discussions of stock and portfolio ideas from other team members.
• Contribute to portfolio construction and stock position discussions.
• Working with members of other focus teams to leverage expertise and work across the equity platform.
• Support the marketing effort as necessary.

We are looking for the following experience:

• Around 2- 4 years’ investment experience as an equity analyst
• Strong and appropriate academic qualifications – preference for postgraduates
• CFA Charter holder would be an advantage
• Strong valuation understanding and skills as part of a valuation driven process
• An understanding of behavioural finance
• Demonstrable contribution to strong investment performance
