:

This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of access programmes and the production of access baseline resources, managed by the Community and Access team. Key projects the candidate will be working on but not limited to will include Art With You \xe2\x80\x93 a museum-based dementia friendly programme, Slow Art \xe2\x80\x93 a slow looking programme that intersects between art appreciation and emotional wellness, Art in 90 Seconds \xe2\x80\x93 an online series of short videos featuring a presenter sharing about how one artwork from relates to their lived experiences, and various research collaborations with various institutes of higher learning.

Working towards the mission of enhancing inclusivity and access to the Gallery, the candidate will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders to co-develop access baseline and content resources, programmes and tours (onsite & online) for specific audience segments with the purpose of supporting their access needs and general well-being through museum-based engagement.

The Community and Access team is involved in the development and the upkeep of the Calm Room, a dedicated space where visitors can rest if they are feeling over-stimulated or overwhelmed by their environment. The candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to co-develop resources and procure goods and services for maintenance of the Calm Room.

In alignment with the Community & Access mission to create meaningful experiences for our visitors, the role will also be involved in supporting the training and development of volunteers involved in facilitating access programmes. This is to help build a strong community of volunteers with diverse talents as Gallery \xe2\x80\x98ambassadors\xe2\x80\x99 in supporting the advocacy, education and engagement work, particularly for Community & Access initiatives.

Community and Access is part of the Museum Planning and Audience Engagement (MPAE) team which oversees the overall museum strategy as well as learning and audience development aspects of the Gallery. Candidate may also engage in projects as part of the larger Museum Planning and Audience Engagement team, when suitable opportunities arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Project Management

  • Represent the Community and Access team in cross-divisional project meetings
  • Plan and execute access initiatives which includes but is not limited to managing overall project timeline, budget, logistics, volunteer training and development of relevant stakeholders, administration and documentation of contracts, procurement, programme feedback and preparation of reports
  • Plan and execute the training and deployment of volunteers, in collaboration with the volunteer management team, for all access programmes and partner initiatives which will require the use of several systems such as the volunteer management system, learning portal and events management system
  • Develop the SOPs to provide clear instructions for the execution of access programmes
  • Work proactively with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate information and assistance to the C&A team and volunteers
  • Support the development of resources and procurement of goods and services for the Calm Room and other access initiatives
Content Development
  • Support in co-development and project management of access initiatives which include Gallery\xe2\x80\x99s own programmes and external collaborations
  • Support in stakeholder management to ensure clear communication and smooth execution of initiatives
  • Plan and execute the necessary training of all volunteers and internal stakeholder crucial to the facilitation and smooth running of the programme. This includes putting together the necessary training and content guide to support the learning and execution of the programmes by volunteer and internal stakeholders (Eg: Front-of-House & Security).
  • Research and co-develop content to support museum-based engagement and volunteer participation that supports general well-being of the communities we serve
  • Develop and organise access baseline resources for Gallery\xe2\x80\x99s key audience engagement experiences such as but not limited to exhibitions, festivals and major programmes. Baseline resources include guidelines, SOPs, Access Advisories and any other relevant documents for easy reference by internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • 2 \xe2\x80\x93 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in project management
  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Arts Management, Humanities, Social Sciences, or related
  • Passionate about engaging with volunteers, developing access initiatives and audience engagement
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to a broad audience base, and ability to engage professionally with corporate and academic partners at the same time
  • Collaborative team player with problem-solving skills to effectively administer or manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities concurrently
  • Good group facilitation skills, people oriented, proactive, cheerful, positive and committed individual
  • Must possess cultural sensitivity and understanding for diverse communities to work well with a diverse group of staff, volunteers and community stakeholders \xe2\x80\x93 demonstrated capability and maturity in dealing with people and/or handling difficult situations
  • Good command of English (spoken and written). Bilingual skills will be an additional asset
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential
  • Candidate with an art education / art history background will be an added advantage
  • Keen interest in the arts, heritage and museum field with a passion to engage with a wider community to visit the Gallery
  • Must be able to work weekends and some evenings
