Job Description

Purpose of Job The Senior Finance Manager provides leadership and supervision to the finance team. He/she is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial management, governance reporting as well as financial planning functions. He/she supports across its roles as a Charity, as well as in the businesses of its social enterprises.

The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the Board, Committees and Management in providing timely and insightful financial and management reports to make prudent decisions to support the day-to-day financial needs, as well as the longer-term sustainability of businesses and enterprises. He/she will be technically competent and financially savvy, whilst being governance-centric and of unquestionable integrity.

Challenges 1. Financial Management

• Responsible for the financial control, including the preparation of group and subsidiary accounts, financial statements and budgets
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial and compliance reports in accordance with the provisions of the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
• Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Prepare management reports, financial updates and presentations to Board and Committee.
• Establish and implement best practice internal controls, policies and procedures for compliance and regulatory changes.
• Work with external auditors to ensure smooth audit closing, preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosure schedules.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the Association\xe2\x80\x99s finances, assets, and interests. Recommend and implement standardization and improvement of processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines set out and assist in compliance reporting matters.
• Oversight of the administration of any grants and donations received.

2. Banking and Treasury

• Administer key banking platforms and act as main liaison for all banking relationships.
• Prepare and review all treasury and banking functions.
• Oversee the execution of any treasury or investment instructions as directed by the Treasurer and Finance & Investment Committee.
• Monitoring the investments, cash flows and reserves management, with a view to balancing the short-term operational needs of the businesses, with the longer-term financial sustainability.

3. Management and Leadership

• Supervise a team of finance staff that are assigned to support different divisions.
• Provide strategic thinking and thought leadership

What it Takes:

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA and possess CPA.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant financial management experience, with prior experience in a managerial position preferably in a not-for-profit or hospitality sector.
• Strong Microsoft Office especially financial modelling skills in Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP System Microsoft Navision or similar applications.
