The Role Responsibilities
Standard Chartered Bank\'s Transformation, Technology and Operations (TTO) function is a $4bn+ cost base organisation that provides technology solutions and operations excellence for the bank. TTO is a fast-paced environment undergoing significant transformation.
This role has two main components:

  • FP&A and Analytics: Support the Head of FP&A, TTO on performance management activities of TTO organization.
  • Execution Enablement & Strategic Initiatives: act as chief of staff to the CFO of TTO to support the execution of TTO Finance initiatives and strategy.
As a result, this role provides the right candidate with high visibility and exposures to senior management and the opportunity to make a significant impact to the organization.
Performance Management
  • Conceptualize and deliver high impact, executive-ready presentations that provides a strong articulation of business narratives for management business reviews and engagement across the Group.
  • Develop digital MI and meaningful KPIs that can be scaled and leveraged across TTO domains with a focus on understanding the underlying cost and productivity drivers of Technology and Operations.
  • Lead advanced financial modelling, scenario and sensitivity analysis to support management decision making. Implement insightful and predictive analysis to provide enhanced financial transparency and forward-looking views to support TTO in delivering their financial goals.
  • Conduct regular deep dives across the cost base and partner with TTO COO and the value capture office to drive the TTO Productivity agenda. Track delivery of productivity opportunities across TTO domains in-line with TTO\'s ambitious goals.
  • Support the monthly forecast and annual corporate plan process for TTO, liaising with finance and TTO teams to ensure quality of inputs as well as consistency of definitions and methodologies and full alignment across the organization.
  • Conduct regular industry benchmarking reviews and market analysis while keeping abreast of macro trends.
  • Support finance activities relating to business realignment and restructures changes including change management and restatement of financial and management reporting, corporate plans, scorecards, reporting structures, and financial systems.
Execution Enablement and Strategic Initiatives
  • Chief of Staff to CFO of TTO: Support all aspects of running the TTO Finance function including conceptualizing and tracking delivery of team goals and priorities, setting the People agenda (including talent reviews, learning & development as well as operating model), and organizing collaboration workshops between TTO Finance and other parts of the organization.
  • Project Management: Provide structure and project management support to track team progress and ensure delivery against team goals and priorities.
  • Communication: Development and execution of content and collaterals (e.g. newsletters, videos, ppt presentations) to ensure effective communication of key messages to the wider team. Support the CFO of TTO to convert information into succinct narrative and credible insights that are presentable for Finance leadership and TTO MT.
  • People engagement: analyse the annual people survey and roll out people initiatives, including team building and social events, townhalls and offsites as well as CSR activities, to drive engagement across TTO Finance.
  • Learning & development: facilitate internal training programmes to enable upskilling and cross-skilling of teams.
  • Change enablement: champion TTO Finance Change agenda by spearheading key initiatives to drive a "Best-in-Class" finance function with a specific focus on reports simplification, centralization and standardization and including the migration of activities to offshore support team.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Background in Finance, 12 + years specialization in FP&A or Performance management
  • Experience in cost management, in Banking or Technology organizations.
  • Project Management experience or experience as business manager / chief of staff
  • Super user and mastery of finance systems and reporting tools
  • Certifications in Business Intelligence / Analytics / Digital Finance
  • Training or experience in data analytics, data science, dashboard development or machine learning
  • Exceptional visualization and storyboarding capabilities, with strong ability to translate complex information into impactful messages in executive-ready PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills, using advanced quantitative techniques and modelling tools, with ability to conceptualize and develop proof of concept frameworks, scenario analysis and business cases. Proficient in MS Tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to craft and tailor messages to the audience.
  • Ability to work independently, in a fast pace environment, under tight deadlines with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Innovative and resourceful in problem solving - ability to adopt new methodologies and navigate the network to resolve business issues, manage risks and complexities.
  • Inquisitive, self-starter with a \'can-do\' and continuous improvement mindset
  • Team player who facilitates the sharing of knowledge, looks for opportunities to grow others, develop talent, give clarity and guidance, drive purpose, and collaboration across teams.
  • Highly customer-focused and experienced in stakeholder management with a strong ability to build network and relationships across the organization.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
