Job Description

What the role is:The incumbent will assist the Artistic Director to oversee all aspects of the artistic production of the Chingay Parade. He/She also serves as a choreographer and trainer for PA major arts and cultural events such as the Chingay Parade, PA Talents Community Outreach showcase/Concerts and National Day Celebration events etc. He/She wil also plans and supervises all performances to meet the required artistic standards and to align with PA's mission and objectives.

• Serves as the Assistant Artistic Producer, choreographer and trainer for the Chingay Parade to present interesting and spectacular items for the Parade.

• Provides artistic advice/inputs and works closely with other choreographers on Chingay and other arts and cultural performances to ensure that the outcomes achieve good standard of performance.

• Worked closely with the appointed music director/personnel to source and curate the selection of music to enhance the presentation of the performances at Chingay Parade and any other cultural performances engaged by the PA Talents Dance Groups.

• Provides artistic concept and supervises the production process (includes floats, costumes, props, sets) of Chingay and all other cultural activities/performances by PA Talents Groups.

• Conduct component, combined and full dressed rehearsals for Chingay.

• Prepare cue sheets for the full-dress rehearsals and shows including cues for performers, lightings, effects, singers etc. Cue master for the rehearsals and shows.

• Serves as a production manager to Chingay performing groups, coordinating the groups' participation in the Chingay Parade and its rehearsals as well as related fringe activities by providing administrative and technical support with regards to choreography, training, costumes, floats, props, sound and lighting etc, to ensure their items meet the acceptable standard of the parade.

• Serves as a Relationship Manager to build and maintain close working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

• Provides secretariat support to the Chingay Creative Advisory Panel.

• Sets the artistic direction and supervises the PA Talents Group to ensure that the performing groups put up cultural performances of good standard.

• Provides artistic direction for the development and strategies of recruitment for PA Talents Groups.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years in dance choreography with relevant exposure to major arts events/shows
• Possess creative and artistic flair and/or interest in performing arts
• Outgoing and sociable character
• Experienced in event planning and co-ordination
• Good initiative, highly motivated and able to work independently
