The Role
This position will be part of the Group Tax team and leads a team of 2 assistant tax managers to manage the tax compliance reporting, perform tax return review and oversee tax controls of the Singapore Group entities. The candidate is expected to also be involved and work together with the rest of Group Tax in supporting tax advisory work in Projects and other tax related matters such as tax provisioning and tax queries. The team will also be responsible to support Property Tax capital expenditure analysis.

Job responsibilities

• Responsible for preparation of Singapore tax returns and ensure timely filing of the tax returns
• Manage and work with external tax agents to ensure tax returns/positions are prepared and filed on time
• Ensure tax queries are managed and responded properly and timely
• Ensure tax advisory support are provided to business units and project work
• Work with business units to support analysis on capital expenditure for property tax purposes
• Ensure Transfer Pricing documentation are prepared and closed appropriately
• Review tax controls and close control gaps with finance teams
• Review tax provision and ensure appropriateness of tax positions undertaken are well supported
• Support and/or lead projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Possess a degree in Accountancy/ACCA/CA/CPF or equivalent
• Minimum 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in a mix of CPA firms and in house tax position
• Strong with Singapore Corporate Tax knowledge and keeps abreast with the tax developments in Singapore
• Ability to lead and manage teams
• Good analytical skills and ability to use excel or other data analytics tool
• Good command of English with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good interpersonal skills;
• Commercially focused, confident, well-organised and can work effectively independently and among the Group Tax team
