Job Description


What the role is:We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to work in the National Infection Control & Healthcare Epidemiology (NICHE) Division. This role involves working with healthcare surveillance datasets, summarising the data to effectively communicate with stakeholders, writing scientific manuscripts and reports, conducting literature reviews, providing necessary support for outbreak and epidemiological investigations, as well as performing administration tasks to support the Division. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:You will be responsible for coordinating the data collection for infection prevention and control and antimicrobial utilization surveillance projects. Your duties will include quality-checking the exported datasets (e.g., to identify missing data, outliers), and enhancing the data collection forms to improve user experience and efficiency. You will write reports on infection prevention and control, and antimicrobial utilization surveillance, ensuring timely submission. You will conduct various literature reviews (e.g., systematic reviews, scoping reviews, traditional reviews) to answer research questions related to infection control and antimicrobial utilization. You will support outbreak and epidemiological investigations of the Division in various capacities such as fieldwork, and data analysis, working closely with the Healthcare Epidemiology (HCE) Unit of the Division. Additionally, you will be expected to perform general administrative tasks to support the Division, working closely with other Units of the Division.What we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in Public Health (MPH), Epidemiology, or a closely related field Capability to write scientific manuscripts and reports effectively Capability to conduct various literature reviews, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Ability to perform statistical analyses using R or STATA is desirable but not required Previous work experience and research publications are added advantages for this position Key Competencies Require Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities.
