You will be part of the OBS Marine & Logistics Operations team, providing integrated support in transport, logistics and marine operations for the smooth running of all OBS programmes across all OBS campuses and areas of operations.

What you will be working on:

The Senior Manager (SM) - Transport Operations ensures the optimal condition and operational readiness of assets such as OBS ferry launches, seacrafts, and engines under their purview. This critical role supports the seamless execution of courses, programs, and expeditions. You will oversee sea and land transport operations, rigorously adhere to stringent safety and security protocols. This will include the meticulous maintenance and preservation of the ferry, expedition seacrafts, and land vehicles. This role requires you to be familiar with transport and operations management and process engineering. As team lead, you will play a key role in the transformation of the Transport Operations unit through the adoption of technologies and driving strategic plans. You will lead and manage a team of Managers to ensure vendors/contractors fulfil their contractual obligations in meeting the required Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and effectively implementing crisis management and business continuity as part of the larger OBS contingency plans. You will also work closely with other OBS units and engage relevant stakeholders to plan details and drive continual improvement of Business Continuity Plans and testing for critical functions in the team. You will also oversee equipment and/or services procurement when required and ensure timely payment to vendors/contractors.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/ or background in marine, operations management, large-scale transport management setting, and managing outsourced operations/vendors, and at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead role. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven experience in marine and transport operations, focusing on operations, strategic planning, and execution. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong understanding and experience in process engineering and implementation, marine mechanics, seacraft mechanics, and engines are preferred. \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with relevant regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices, such as knowledge and experience in WSH and ISO (9001, 14001, 45001). \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficient in using data analytics, visualisation tools and trade systems such as vessel management systems (VMS) and transportation management systems (TMS). \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to make informed decisions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. \xe2\x80\xa2 The job requires work mobility in any OBS campuses/sites (e.g., Pulau Ubin, East Coast Campus, Punggol Reception, Changi, and OBS@Coney in the future) and beyond official working hours where required or when needed.
