What will you be doing?


We are looking for a driven, passionate, and resourceful market analyst/reporter to join our editorial team covering Biofuels. The ideal candidate is innately curious and personable, able to quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage within a designated product portfolio, including biodiesel, ethanol, renewable diesel, renewable feedstocks, and RIN credits. In addition, you must be interested in energy, policy and economics, enjoy people and build relationships.


You will be writing engaging market intelligence and analysing spot prices that are timely, accurate, objective, and meaningful for our clients. This includes maintaining a strong network of contacts within the industries to source original, relevant and exclusive content. You will be personable and be able to quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage within the designated product portfolio. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from various backgrounds, many located in Argus\xe2\x80\x99 other offices around the globe. In addition, there are opportunities to travel, attend industry events, present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.

You do not need commodities or energy industry experience. Instead, intelligence, curiosity, writing ability and a genuine desire to produce quality journalism are the primary qualities we look for in a diverse pool of candidates.

• 
  Monitor and assess fast-moving markets to produce daily price assessments, intelligence, market commentaries, news, analysis, and reports.
• Establish strong relationships with key members of the industry and business leaders through meetings and daily communications to gain an in-depth understanding of your market.
• Proactively generate news leads and pitch stories, contribute copy to the relevant publication and the online news service, and contribute to unique content (blog posts, white papers, webinars, podcasts, etc.).
• Collaborate with colleagues on the desk and other teams to enhance and drive coverage.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus in the industry.
• Build your industry expertise and writing skills to provide readers with first-class market insights and analysis.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for in you

• An articulate graduate with a strong degree.
• The ability to develop, verify and write industry-relevant news/content to deadline is preferred.
• Prior experience working in financial or commodities journalism is beneficial but optional.

• Experience in delivering breaking news, insightful market reports, and in-depth analytical articles is a bonus.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives.

Travel

• Cover conferences and events (5-10% of overseas travel is expected).

Hours
Monday through Friday, 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.
