About the Role
Are you self-motivated, ambitious and passionate about advocacy? Do you enjoy keeping tab of key regulatory trends in strategic areas? If yes, then we have an opportunity for you in our Asia Regulatory Risk Management team! As Senior Regulatory Risk Officer Asia, you will help to strengthen Swiss Re's market leadership as a risk knowledge company and enable business in Asia. To do so, you will proactively monitor, identify, and communicate regulatory trends in key strategic financial services policy areas, such as digitalisation and sustainability. You will work closely with a variety of functions across locations to develop Swiss Re's public policy positions on these topics, coordinate Swiss Re's responses to consultations, and promote consistency in messages in external engagements. You will support Senior Management discussions with Asian insurance regulators, policymakers, and industry associations, and in thought leadership forums. You will liaise with external partners (including policymakers, regulators, clients and others). The role is based in Singapore and reports into Head Regulatory Risk Management Asia.
Core responsibilities:

  • Monitor regulatory initiatives with Asia-wide impact and assessing current and emerging risks across all three of Swiss Re's business units
  • Develop a clear appreciation of the Asia regulatory risk landscape and becoming an expert of regulatory risks in the region (especially on digitalization and sustainability related topics)
  • Collaborate across functions to assess and steer developments in Asia to mitigate risks and support business opportunities
  • Represent Swiss Re in discussions with Asia regulators, trade associations and clients and at industry events
  • Support Senior Management in their regulatory engagement e.g. accompanying them to the meetings, developing slides and briefing documents
  • Communicate regulatory developments in the region internally (e.g. through webinars, newsletters and risk reporting)
  • Support external communication in Asia on selected topics (e.g. developing slides for meetings and speaking roles).

About You
  • A university degree or equivalent in Social Sciences (e.g. Economics, Political Science or International Relations)
  • At least 5+ years of professional-level work experience in a governmental agency, international organisation, regulatory authority or company
  • Interest and experience in working on digital transformation / tech regulation related topics
  • Excellent communications, orally and in writing in English (knowledge of Asian language skills such as Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin would be an asset but not a requirement)
  • Ability to turn complex issues into concise memos/presentations
  • Proven business partnering, communication and influencing skills
  • Stamina and persistence to pursue policy advocacy efforts until the end of the project cycle
  • A successful track record in operating effectively in a multi-cultural environment with teams and collaborators based in various locations
  • Able to travel around Asia
  • At ease to liaise at all levels
  • A driven, "can-do”, self-starter personality
