Job Description


Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior/Quality Manager to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements and standards before they reach our customers. The Quality Manager ensures full compliance to legal standards that meet our customers’ expectations. The Quality Manager is thorough and observant with a keen eye for detail. He/she must fully understand the requirements for excellence and safety in our raw materials, processes, products and services and have a strong sense of responsibility towards our existing customers. Preserving our Kemin brand and reputation to drive sustainable growth will be an important goal in the QA function. Responsibilities:

  • Manage Total Quality Management system, QA and QC related activities, design and implement Quality Plan for Kemin Asia.
  • Responsible as the Deputy Quality Management Representative for ISO17025, ISO9001, GMP and FAMI-QS.
  • Enforce Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Manage and drive CAPA and achieve continuous improvement effort throughout the organization.
  • Manage Risk Assessments for raw material qualifications, scenario planning, packaging, labelling, etc.
  • Review, improve and approve new QC/R&D analytical methods, validation of methods, method harmonization as well as processes and equipment qualifications.
  • Support R&D and Production/Operations Departments in new product innovation and process improvement.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control as a QC tool to monitor and manage process performance.
  • Timely execution of tactics in the Annual Strategic Plan to meet company’s Key Performance Indices.
  • Manage QA Departmental budget and cashflow.
  • Team building and talent retention for the QA and QC Departments.
  • Other responsibilities designated to the Quality Manager by the R&D Director.


Other tasks:


  • Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a Quality Plan. Bring together cross-functional operating staff and drive the group to formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
  • Effectively engage Production, R&D, Marketing and Sales teams to meet sales orders and offer support in the introduction of new products in all the 15 markets.
  • Work with Purchasing to establish quality requirements from external suppliers for our raw materials.
  • Lead investigations on customer complaints and ensure closure of the cases with corrective and preventive measures in place for short and long-term solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation. Oversee compliance in ISO and GMP requirements.
  • Establish testing support by external labs both locally and overseas.
  • Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and reviewed periodically. Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
  • Progress Reports for QA – eg. monthly department reports, customer complaint investigation report, etc.
  • Manage, review and improve the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
  • Conduct supplier and warehouse audits locally and in the region.

#LI-LC1 Qualifications:
Qualification: Minimum B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences or its equivalent.

Experience:
6 years and above as a QA Manager in a manufacturing/production environment. Strong track record in making effective changes to the Quality System, and in working with culturally diversified teams. Prior experience in a analytical lab or QC testing laboratory would be an added advantage

Other attributes:
Mature, task-oriented, hands-on, independent, motivated, pro-active and thrive on challenges. Strong managerial skills, excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to engage and obtain buy-ins for company wide efforts to drive quality improvement initiatives will be an important skill to have. Knowledge of ISO17025, ISO9001 and GMP. Knowledge of FAMI-QS or FSSC 22000/ ISO 22000 would be an advantage.
