The IT headquarters in Munich provides state-of-the-art IT infrastructure for the global business units. The global IT group is operating across three regions and supporting the business out of the Americas, APAC and EMEA.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Service Delivery Manager to assist in overall management, implementation and oversight of our Windows Server environments. This position can be located in either Sydney or Singapore and will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure Operations in Cincinnati.

Your job

Data Centre Operations is helping support a program that will deliver the biggest core infrastructure change to the Munich Re Group. The program is improving our day to day support of platform services for public and private cloud including compute, storage, middleware in addition to core IT infrastructure services. The project also includes lifecycle management based on EA standards via 'design and build' project activities.

• Key point of escalation for operational teams on Windows Server topics / Support of IT operations within the framework of task forces
• Provide improvements on the current infrastructure ensuring that the correct balance between stability and innovation is maintained
• Support concepts and documentation, as well as coordinate architectural adjustments, automate repetitive processes so they will be delegated to the IT operations team
• Participation in cross-service global infrastructure projects. Close collaboration with the global IT team
• Management of the lifecycle of the components and products in the area of responsibility within the framework of projects in close cooperation with the RUN Infrastructure department and the external providers
• IT internal global coordination and communication on infrastructure changes in the area of responsibility
• Technical definition of reports, KPIs and SLAs for controlling the infrastructure operations of the providers. Regular quality assurance of the infrastructure design in the RUN
• Evaluate proposals from external provider for infrastructure design adaptions
• Support to the Risk & Security department in the context of security and governance audits
• Support global initiatives for vulnerability remediation
  

• Technical university studies (preferably in the IT sector) or several years of professional experience with sound IT infrastructure knowledge
• Demonstrated success in managing hybrid cloud environments, public (Azure) and private cloud. Strong understanding of IaaS on Azure is preferable
• Experienced in current Windows Server Versions (2012- 2022)
• Excellent experience of Group policy management and desired state configuration
• Ability to create Power Shell scripts and in infrastructure automation
• Experience to all adjacent interfaces, such as LAN, WAN, Storage, DMZ, Backup, AD, SQL, Azure Dashboard, Azure Site Recovery
• Persuasiveness in the presentation of complex contexts
• Experience in working in technical projects and in virtual teams as well as in the coordination and control of external service providers
• Experience with server deployments (virtual and bare-metal)
• Ability to evaluate and implement innovative architectures, even outside of one's own scope
• Analytical and methodological competence for the creation of technical concepts
• Ability to work well under pressure, self-motivated, and eager to implement changes
• Favourable to possess:
• Knowledge of current VMware ESX versions and VMware management tools such as Virtual Centre, Site Recovery Manager, Operations Manager and Log Insight
  Experience in VMware vSAN, VMware vRealise Automation and VMware VCF
  Experience in Microsoft Azure VMware Solution
  Experience with Branch Office concepts
  Experience with DFS and AFS technologies; and Ivanti Patch Management
