Ship Manager

Singapore, Singapore

Job Description

Ably Resources are working with one of our Marine clients to find two Ship Managers for their Singapore offices.

The Ship Manager role is a highly technical role which requires someone with a complete understanding of LPG/Ethylene shipping - including seagoing experience.

The client is a market leading energy shipping company with several offices and a fleet of vessels delivering fuels globally.

To be considered for this Ship Manager role, you must hold a Chief Engineers CoC and have experience sailing as either a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on board LPG/Ethylene vessels.

You'll be managing the daily technical and operational matters of a group of vessels including maintenance, conditioning, repairs and operational performance.

All vessels must be compliant with international maritime law, and you will play a key role in making sure that is the case. As such, a comprehensive knowledge of legislation affecting your vessels will be required.

You'll be investigating incidents, mentoring recruits and conducting appraisals and recommendation for current seafarers - among other duties. All duties must be carried out to a high standard in line with the company's expectations.

You should be technologically driven and work well in a process driven environment. There will be travel involved with this role and it is on call, with several vessels under your management expecting clear guidance from you.

If this is a role that suits your experience and skills, please get in touch with paul.mcalpine@ablyresources.com and attach your current CV.
