Job Description

Our client is a well-established MNC, market leader in the Manufacturing industry. They are looking for a Shipping Specialist to assist their team for the next phase of their business. They are located in Central – easily accessible.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with the transportation team and freight forwarders to make arrangements based on monthly offtake forecast for the transfer of shipment, ensuring offtake shipment operations run smoothly
• Appropriate voyage planning to improve time saving and revenue, reduce costs as well as gather all required information
• Oversee forwarding operations with logistics vendors, ensuring proper shipment documentation are arranged
• Execute and follow latest regulatory and customs requirements with regards to the shipments
• Ensure billings of sales and purchase orders are issued, verifying with the freight forwarders
• Ensure safe and efficient stowage planning of containers. Send stowage instructions for approval before the vessel’s arrival. Follow up on stowage plans to ensure operations run smoothly
• Responsible for the vessels being engaged by the company, communicate closely with the vendors from the shipping lines and freight forwarders
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
  

Requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration /Management or any related disciple
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing shipping lines/ freight forwarding
• Experienced in international freight forwarding (sea freight)
• Knowledgeable in Supply Chain models
• Knowledgeable with ERP / SAP / Navision
