Approving all food that is served out of the kitchen
Maintaining control of the kitchen at all times to the chefs below him
Charged with maximizing the productivity of the kitchen crew
Maintaining high personal hygiene in addition to establishing hygienic work Commands the respect of the kitchen crew and is expected to set an example

be the back support for the kitchen members as a guidance and trainer
Leads kitchen team in chef's absence
Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
Hires and trains new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
Assists executive chef with menu creation
Coordinates with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing

(C) MISCELLANEOUS
Attends meetings and training required by the Sous Chef
Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to the food production function
Maintains own working area, materials and company property clean, tidy and in good shape
Helps Steward when needed for the effective running of the restaurant
Continuously seeks to endeavour the knowledge of own job function
Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge of the following:
Restaurant fire and emergency procedures
Restaurant corporate marketing and promotional programs
Union agreements
(D) QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Culinary College level or Hotel school at least 2 years.
Proficient in spoken and written English
If newly promoted an experience of 6-8 years in restaurant is required with the same promotion criteria as above must be in kitchen alone
Willing to work any shift (day, evening, split, and on weekends)
Able to cope with physical duties
Very dynamic at work
Willing to grow his/her career in the culinary team within the kazbar restaurant
