NUS Libraries seeks a skilled and knowledgeable individual to provide first-level technical support for maintenance of end user equipment (PCs, laptops and other IT hardware) before escalation to NUS IT support teams. The candidate will also provide operational support for room setup and event preparation, information literacy and outreach activities as well as for maintenance of building, facilities and related equipment.
This position will be part of Digital Technologies and Access Platforms Cluster which aims to enable a collaborative and inclusive environment for experiential phygital learning and innovation. Duties & Responsibilities
The candidate will be involved in the following tasks:
Relocation, setup PC, laptops and other end user equipment for staff and students’ use
Prepare library venues (theatrette, training room, etc) for training sessions and events
Manage IT and end user equipment and maintain proper inventory of hardware and software
Assist with the purchasing and receiving of new IT, AV and end user equipment and storage of unused equipment
Manage condemnation of IT, AV and end user equipment
Provide temporary loan of IT, end user equipment to staff
Assist with library operations such as maintenance of building, facilities and related equipment
Perform simple troubleshooting of IT, AV and end user equipment
Liase with C2-ITSS and IT Care for IT and end user equipment matters and send faulty equipment for repair
Perform other duties as assigned by Heads of Digital Technologies and Operations
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Information Technology/ NITEC or Higher NITEC certificate in Engineering/IT or equivalent
Years of Experience: minimum 2 years’ experience on IT, AV and end user equipment troubleshooting as well as venue management.
Knowledge & Skills required:
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, reliable and proactive.
Able to work independently as well as part of the team.
Meticulous and good service-oriented attitude.
Competent in Microsoft Office.
Excellent computer skills for technical support of IT and AV equipment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Relevant experience in user services and library technical work will be an added advantage
