Position Summary


The Senior Manager, Talent Development for South APAC is responsible for the strategy and execution of training associated with Under Armour’s retail teams in South Asia Pacific, in alignment with the Global Retail Teammate Experience strategy. This teammate will operationalize and execute Under Armour’s Global Retail development solutions within own region(s) to meet respective business goals. At the same time, this teammate will lead the South APAC TD Team, training roadmap planning and execution of skills/behaviors in stores. In this capacity this person will be accountable for the design, development, deployment, and measurement of assigned goals/initiatives together with a dynamic and creative TD Team situated across the region. Following principles of adult learning theory and Under Armour’s training standards, the Talent Development Lead will be expected to deliver high energy, high quality training through multiple learning methods. The role presents a significant opportunity for a highly skilled leader to provide direction and guidance on leading training practices and techniques related to sales and retail.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



Global:
  • Act as the conduit between South APAC and global retail training team regarding new developments / requirements on Training system, tools, processes, ensuring the sub-region’s opportunities & needs are reflected in the global DTC Retail Teammate Experience roadmap
  • Be a thought partner in the development of global retail development portfolio solutions including and not limited to hiring & onboarding programs, career framework, operational efficiencies, service and sales, compliance, leadership development, etc.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key global cross-functional stakeholders to collaborate on business needs, assess key learning opportunities and understand how best to align enablement solutions to impact priority business metrics
  • Continually regionalize and innovate UA’s global retail training content and processes to ensure it is relevant to regional nuances and priorities while meeting regional needs

Regional:
  • Lead and manage a regional team of Talent Development Professionals to successfully manage both regional and local training executions across the ADDIE or SAM cycle
  • Lead the SAPAC training roadmap planning and execution of skills/behaviors in stores
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate learning budget for the SAPAC region
  • Support design and implementation of training dashboard and partner with business to drive data into actions
  • Identify training needs using a data-driven approach by consulting with stakeholders, conducting needs assessments, workforce plans. Prioritize regional retail business asks, determine training strategies, and consult with retail partners (Owned & Operated, Franchise and Wholesale partners) on solutions to expected outcomes
  • Design, develop and facilitate multi-platform content to support targeted learning and behavioral change for SAPAC retail, using best practices in learning theory, learning technology, change management and communication (e.g. micro-learning, peer learning, action learning, blended solutions, learning portal management, toolkits, and marketing campaigns.)
  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer session for SAPAC’s retail training programs with internal and external partners to ensure consistent, high quality facilitation of the course content
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of materials and delivery
  • Facilitate content at retail summits and marketing activations as per seasonal key stories
  • Partner with in-field leaders to run, execute, and evolve the Training Store Manager Program
  • Manage vendor relationships and translation process (when applicable)

Critical Skills


  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and innovative training delivery methods
  • Skilled in instructional design methodology (ADDIE, SAM, etc.)
  • Must be a strong Manager and Leader, in a matrixed environment
  • Must be a strong trainer & facilitator
  • A proven track record of training program development and management. Ability to create a plan to measure the impact of training
  • Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships to co-create solutions and achieve goals
  • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record in building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence others by asking questions with curiosity and provide recommendations using expertise

Education And / Or Experience


  • BS or MA degree education, human resources, instructional design or related discipline
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 10 years of instructional design and training experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience in needs analysis, designing, delivering, and measuring impact of training to business
  • Retail Experience preferred
  • Up to 35% travel required (health safety guidelines considered)
