MoneySmart was founded in 2009 with the simple aim to help consumers make better financial decisions. We operate in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Mission As a Tech Lead, you will facilitate, mentor and implement modern software development practices across your development team. You will define, develop, test and deliver software products to the highest standards at the desired cost. As part of the Marketplace business unit you will lead the Tech team that builds and optimizes product recommendations engine and personalized cross sell platform experience for MoneySmart users across all regions. Your close alignment with the Product team will allow the business to rapidly innovate and experiment, and your architectural choices will represent current best practices with a view across the horizon at developing trends. In a Nutshell

• Lead the team and delivery of end to end platform experience of personalisation and recommendations across MoneySmart web applications.
• Work alongside data analyst, data engineers to create end to end ML based solutions for product recommendations engine and cross selling experience.
• Execute to the highest standards across the entire software development lifecycle including feature planning and estimation, automated testing, development, deployment and user acceptance testing
• Facilitate conversation around coding, architecture standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the overall technology design and architecture of MoneySmart services.
• Help prioritize the team\'s efforts and facilitate the timely delivery of initiatives.
• Work with the product team to clearly define the teams capabilities and organize work
• People management, identify what drives each of the team members to Grow the technical leadership in the team
• Help hire, onboard and retain top talent in the company

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software development experience and at least 1 year managing engineers or leading an engineering team.
• Experience designing and engineering production ready machine learning and deep learning systems for recommendations, personalisations or other relevant business use cases.
• A full stack developer with strong backend development experience.
• Experience working with a scripting language like Ruby.
• Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Experience working on cloud platforms like AWS.
• You have a strong grasp of designing and building distributed systems in a services architecture.
• We work on Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Typescript, VueJS, Kafka. Knowledge and experience in these is a strong plus.
• Good grasp of Object oriented programming principles and code design patterns.
• Strong advocate for automated software testing.
• Deep knowledge of web standards, design and usability.
