Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Minimum PSLE

\xc2\xb7 Basic computer knowledge is preferred

\xc2\xb7 Ability to read and understand basic English language

\xc2\xb7 Comfortable carrying library materials with physical works involved

\xc2\xb7 Able to attain output and work in a team

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to commit for entire contract period



1. UHF Conversion of library materials

a) Retrieve library materials with HF tags from each shelf, as demarcated by NLB supervisor, and placed them on the book trolley

b) Transport library materials using the book trolley from the shelves to the work room where the workstations have been set up

c) Transfer library materials, one at a time, with HF tag from the book trolley onto the HF antenna to retrieve data of the library material

d) Place a new UHF tag on the UHF antenna

e) Press the \xe2\x80\x98enter\xe2\x80\x99 key on workstation laptop to transfer data from the HF tag to the new UHF tag

f) Paste the new UHF tag (with newly transferred data) onto the library material in accordance with requirements provided by NLB. Such requirements include the position of the UHF tag on the library material. At this point, the UHF cloning process has been completed for that library material

g) Repeat steps (a) to (f) with the rest of the library materials

h) Place library materials with new UHF tags back onto the book trolley

i) Move loaded book trolley back to shelves where the library materials were originally removed from

j) Shelve library materials according to the original location of each material (in accordance with the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) number and categories).

k) Carry on with the same process till all the books have been replaced with the new UHF tags

l) All books on the trolley must be completed and shelved back at the end of each day and not left at the trolley

m) Shut down the systems, tidy up and secure the workplace at the end of each workday

Outcome: Library materials are processed according to NLB requirements

2. Other Ad-hoc Duties

a) Any other related work as and when directed by NLB supervisors

Expected Performance Output

\xc2\xb7 Process up to 1,250 volumes of library materials per day per team of 2 staff
