Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Vessel Manager for an established Shipowner MNC to manage the company\'s fleet of vessels. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent. He/she would possess a good working attitude and can work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Ensure vessel compliance with Class, Flag State, and Major Oil Company requirements to uphold the company\'s reputation as a \'Shipper of Choice\' in the industry.
  • Plan and monitor Class and Flag State Survey requirements to maintain valid certificates.
  • Provide technical expertise consultancy and troubleshoot vessel repairs.
  • Monitor and manage the Planned Maintenance Scheme (PMS) and worklist for vessels.
  • Plan, review, and oversee drydocking requirements, specifications, costing, and supervision.
  • Evaluate store/spare requisitions and recommend approvals.
  • Monitor and analyze running/drydock costs, bunker, and lubricating oil consumption, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Manage underperforming ships, coach and motivate technical and purchasing staff, and oversee ship staff welfare.
  • Report non-conformities and assist in defect verification and resolution.
  • Propose or review draft specifications for new building/conversion/alteration to ensure compliance.
  • Plan and attend routine inspections, audits, and sale and purchase inspections.
Qualifications / Experiences
  • Min 3 years experience as Technical Superintendent managing oil tankers OR having at least 4 years of good experiences in repairing/ retrofitting/ or performing dry docking of oil tankers in shipyards.
  • Having a Certificate of Competency (Class 1) / Chief Engineer will be an advantage.
  • Having MEGI/ Dual Fuel Engines experiences would also be an advantage.
  • Good negotiation, communication skills & good people management skills.
  • Experienced in dry docking and repairs & good follow-up skills and willingness to guide junior member of the team.
