Candidate Profile

Expected qualifications:

• Postgraduate law degree, called to the Bar or MSc degree in private law.
• LLM or Business School diploma is a plus.

Technical skills:

• Ideally, first experience in the legal department of an international company
• Good knowledge and first practice of French law and common law.
• Practice in drafting agreements.

Computing skills:

• Good knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Teams)
• Knowledge in digital tools in a legal area

Languages:

English: level C1

French: level C1

The position holder will provide legal advice for the Marketing and Services branch of TotalEnergies for the Asia Pacific - Middle East region (APMO) and for the shared services entity in Singapore. He/she will join a team composed of 7 lawyers including the Legal VP to whom he/she will report directly. More globally, he/she is an integral part of the network of approximately 35 lawyers based in the subsidiaries of the region. He/she will assist the operational teams with legal support as required, in Singapore or in the region\'s subsidiaries.

If you accept this VIE mission as a legal counsel, you will be in charge of :

• assisting the other legal counsels in their mission of providing legal advice to the operational teams and entities within the region.
• providing legal advice in the area of business law, corporate law, contract law, ensuring full compliance (with regards to anti-corruption laws, economic sanctions regulations...)
• drafting and reviewing all relevant documents and commercial contracts submitted for review.
• participating in the establishment of standard contracts
• participating, in assistance to the other legal counsels, in development and growth projects\' managed by the teams based in Singapore
• supporting the Legal VP for all project/files in relation with MS HQ in France and he/she is the point of contact for the affiliates under french law in the perimeter.
• participating in the development of digital tools in the legal field.
• finally, you will be involved in the preparation and facilitation of training sessions for the APMO perimeter, as well as in various reporting.

Based in Singapore as member of the legal team, the position holder will have regular interactions with the MS/Paris and Holding legal teams with whom he/she will develop an efficient cooperation.

The position holder will have a strong ability to understand the business issues at stake while maintaining a focus on legal security in the APMO region. He/she will ensure, through his/her missions, the respect of the applicable regulations for subsidiaries and entities in the region.

Context & Environment

The selected candidate will receive a VIE allowance according to the Business France rates.
