Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Support and maintain VMware Horizon and vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and VDI components. Manage VDI provisioning, desktop pools, golden images, and linked or instant clones. Troubleshoot VDI performance, connectivity, and user experience issues across multiple sites. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, system reporting, and operational efficiency. Perform capacity planning, system health monitoring, and proactive issue resolution using vROps or similar tools. Collaborate with network, AD, and storage teams to ensure seamless system integration. Implement ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning for virtual infrastructure. Document configuration standards, operational procedures, and best practices.

Requirements / Skills

Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, including incident, problem, and change management. Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) for managing service requests and incidents. Strong understanding of VDI components such as connection servers, desktop pools, golden images, and linked clones. Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, and virtual machine management. Proficiency in troubleshooting VDI performance and connectivity issues. Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user profile management in a VDI context. Solid understanding of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.). Knowledge of monitoring tools such as VMware vROps or similar. Understanding of storage technologies, including SAN and NAS, in relation to VDI. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. VMware certification (VCP / VCAP) or equivalent experience preferred. * Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in VMware infrastructure and VDI administration, ideally within large-scale or financial environments.
