As the Digital User Engagement GTM Specialist in Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will help shape the future of the Digital User Engagement market in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) and further establish AWS as the leader in the cloud computing space. Your responsibilities will include creating comprehensive go-to-market strategies to accelerate existing services (Amazon Pinpoint and Amazon Simple Email Service), developing new customer engagement offerings that include machine learning (ML) services, and launch new services at scale. You will be required to identify early adopters who can help influence the direction, feature set of the product, and then drive lighthouse customer wins in specific market and industry segments in the region. As the business matures, you will lead efforts to refine Go-to-Market (GTM) motions, and identify and activate new partnerships and channels. This will involve creating a strong partnership with GTM team in driving global GTM pipeline focused on driving GTM, adoption, and market penetration.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record and background that enables them to lead a new market development effort that will include teaming with AWS Service Product Managers, Solutions Architects, Training, GTM, Partners and engagements at the CxO level within the largest/strategic AWS accounts in APJ. The successful candidate will also possess a business background that enables them to drive specific engagement and interaction at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical understanding that enables them to easily interact with developers and technical architects.

The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A track record of helping establish new business via focused incubation mechanisms and then broad partnerships will be important for this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a Digital User Engagement Specialist to develop the overall category Go-To-Market (GTM) and technical strategy in APJ.
  • Adept at thinking strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.
  • Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., AWS service teams, legal, support, et. al.).
  • Develop the DUE GTM motion strategy for specific AWS market segments and industry verticals in APJ.
  • Define a strategic partner development plan to compliment the GTM motion strategy in target markets and ensure it is in line with the service engineering team product direction.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and complex business requirements and activities that drive category specific selection in collaboration with the Service Product Management and Product Marketing teams.
  • Define strategies to add ancillary services (ML, Connect, New Services) to the DUE portfolio to bring greater value to our customers, drive adoption and usage, and influence the service team roadmap.
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the leadership management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers in APJ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills.
  • Passion for technology trends across messaging, marketing automation, CRM, machine learning and mobile messaging
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
  • 7-10 + years of business development, strategic partnerships, or program/product management experience
  • 7+ years working with customers in helping them with technology decisions, preferably in messaging, hosted and managed services in technology industry
  • Experience with working with cloud native messaging applications.
  • Experience in selling technical cloud services or software technology products.
  • Technical and/or business degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with the Messaging Ecosystems, CRM or marketing automation
  • Have worked for / with or in the Adobe, Salesforce, SAP Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Azure or Oracle Marketing Automation ecosystem of consultants and ISVs
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
  • Experience with email or text messaging.
