Role Summary: Drive RGE\'s overall container strategy and execute logistics excellence initiatives across Business Units and functions.

Responsibilities:

This is a logistics-centric role to support the Project and Operation (Direct & Indirect) Procurement functions on both Group and key Business Unit levels. The scope entails establishing the overall container framework to assist the Business Units\' operations as well as optimizing end-to-end logistics to realize business values.

Container Shipping:

• Support the Group\'s Fibre and Palm Oil Business Units\' container and barge operations, covering domestic and international lanes for both inbound and outbound activities: freight procurement, contract, rate and SLA negotiation, carrier/ operator relationship and performance management
• Evaluate infrastructure readiness: owned assets vs outsourcing options, trans-shipment process/ alternatives, port capabilities etc.
• Conduct market research and build knowledge around industry trends, alternative solutions, best practices, risk exposures etc.

Group Logistics:

• Establish end-to-end logistics standards covering transportation/ freight, storage/ warehousing and inventory management
• Identify, prioritize and execute logistics levers with concrete business values
• Partner with Business Units and functions in implementing logistics improvements
• Maintain overall visibility of and provide necessary support/ expertise to key logistics initiatives across the Group

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:

• Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain/Logistics
• At least 10 years of experience in logistics import and export and warehouse management. Some experiences in facilities management will have added advantages.
• Accustomed with shipping/logistics process and procedures.
• Knowledgeable, with hands-on experience in Microsoft and SAP.
• Dynamic and able to handle fast pace environment.
• Able to work independently and a good team player.
• Good working attitude; willing to learn and able to assist with other duties when required.
