Job Description


PAME is looking for an Assistant Manager, Membership & Operations to work with the team to develop, implement and support PAME’s engagement drive for greater members’ engagement, improve participation & recruitment efforts, address loyalty and retention challenges. The Role The Membership and Operations Assistant Manager will be the first person our members speak to or engage when they join SAL. He/She will co-ordinate and support our membership & engagement work across the various aspects within SAL and externally. He/She will provide effective administrative and operational support to the Senior Manager/Director and work closely with the SAL team on membership activities, communications, internal and external events. This role will suit someone who is able to move between tasks efficiently, is comfortable with digital/web/social media channels, can organise and schedule events and manage attendees and who likes an environment where change is always a possibility. This role has plenty of scope for learning on the job, and you may have had a range of prior experiences that make you right for the role. The role may need to supervise junior staff, contractors; is open to applicants with enthusiasm, ambition, and a love for meaningful work involving people.
Main responsibilities: Member Engagement

  • Supporting the engagement, development and delivery of a member engagement plan, ensuring efficient use of resources and drawing on support from within the membership network.
  • Engaging closely on members’ journey and lead recruitment & onboarding of new members to meet recruitment and retention targets
  • Increasing the active participation of members in SAL activities, projects, events, focusing on issues and solutions important to targeted segments
  • Develop an understanding of the specialist interests and skills of members to help SAL in optimizing opportunities of their participation within SAL work or support projects for the betterment of the legal profession
  • Achieve an excellent understanding of the workforce to develop targeted recruitment and engagement drives to potential members
  • Develop productive working relationship with other bodies to establish what other collaborative opportunities might exist.
  • Plan, Co-ordinate and support the functioning of PAME’s member events and engagement activities, their respective deliverables and products
  • Ensuring high visibility of member engagement activities, outputs and outcomes through publication, participation, online/offline engagement and general dissemination – to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Representing PAME at key stakeholder events to further strengthen relationships with our members. Working closely with the rest of PAME team to ensure that our approach to member engagement is collaborative and consistent.
Operational & Service Excellence
  • Ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency as first responders to membership
  • Establishing a consistent feedback flow and providing regular feedback to relevant colleagues on members’ experiences and needs in order to enable changes in strategy and communication to meet SAL’s long-term objectives
  • Oversee the maintenance data accuracy and completeness of membership records in the centralised database and be familiar with prevailing Acts & Rules.
  • Performing operational and administrative tasks involving timely applications/waivers processing, membership status records keeping & information updating
  • Generating and preparing reports regarding members
KEY SPECIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or Degree holder and/or those with minimum 3 years relevant work experience in membership association or professional body will also be considered
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Formal training will be provided for SAL systems.
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; shows persistence when faced with problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations & able to multi-task
  • Works with initiative and enthusiasm to deliver high-quality work and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrates good customer service including dealing with difficult stakeholders
  • Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately.
  • Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed; asks questions to clarify and exhibits interest in having two-way communication
