WHAT YOU WILL LEAD AND GROW
  • This Business Unit Lead role will look after APAC and includes overseeing the commercial activity for 11 countries, including Australia & New Zealand. The role can be based anywhere, including in Asia, however, if based in Australia, this organisation would prefer the successful person to be based in Sydney or Singapore. This role involves extensive travel to Asia, much of your time spent in Singapore and Japan, ideally you will travel 50% of the time.
  • Serving as a member of the Health Care Business Group Operating Committee in Asia and the Global Operating Committee, the role will be responsible for the leadership of one of their biggest franchises for Asia and direct broader marketing and support activities.
  • This person will be responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive commercialisation strategies, providing strategic and tactical leadership to drive competitive advantage and enable markets to realise significant market share growth.
  • You will oversee the business and develop, coordinate and implement plans designed to increase existing business, optimise the portfolio and capture new opportunities.
  • You will lead a team, of 4, who are based in Japan, Singapore & Korea, in development of area marketing and new product launches, value propositions and marketing initiatives.
  • You will take an active role in transforming the marketing mindset and approach, by leading the way in digital, integrated marketing and channel vs end-to-end marketing. This with focus on aspects of value creation, (clinical) strategy, educational and content creation.
  • You will be responsible for the business success of the platform including portfolio management, value pricing, pricing corridors and reaching demand plan accuracy.
  • You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives, including but not limited to area, regional, and local markets across marketing teams and field sales force, regulatory & quality, market access, scientific affairs & education, global and area management, marketing and health care professionals.
  • You will partner closely with the leaders of 11 countries and optimise the regions go to market model, in terms of sales and functional coverage, product launches and channel strategy across subsidiaries and distribution channels.
  • You will be the voice of the customer and lead market research & intelligence efforts to inform strategy and tactical choices from the market & customer needs.
  • You will develop a high-performing area organisation, including hiring and developing high performing talent, and succession planning.
IDEALLY YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • University degree, preferably with post-graduate qualifications.
  • Proven business leadership, marketing and sales experience in the medical device space within Asia (Japan, ANZ, India, Korea and SEA).
  • P&L responsibility for a large region/portfolio in current/previous role(s).
  • At least 10 years’ direct experience in medical devices.
  • Business travel a norm and may fluctuate depending on business requirements, as a general guidance 50% travel may be required.
  • Health economics/benefit analysis experience that drives sales growth.
  • Strong personal drive with demonstrated ability to synthesize customer needs with business needs, problem solve and execute on plans.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and “roll-up your sleeves” culture. A self-starter who functions well both independently and within a team.
  • Strong thought leadership, written, and verbal English communication skills with proven ability to interact directly with area and global leadership to provide feedback and input on area insights, priorities and local requirements.
  • Strong business leader with strategic marketing acumen to assess various market needs and successfully lead diverse tactical initiatives.
  • Expertise in insight-based strategic marketing communications development and strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop teams, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business & marketing plans.
  • Familiarity with primary and secondary market research and data analysis.
