The Director, Digital and Creative, is responsible for managing and growing the team’s presence in the region. The Director will manage large client relationships and/or multiple client relationships and is responsible for building and managing APCO’s combined social media, digital, and creative services in the region, including growing and managing a book of business, supervising project teams, allocating resources, and delegating projects and tasks effectively. We will empower the Director to develop strategy for growing this practice that is aligned with APCO’s overall strategy. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage large client relationships effectively
  • Develop plans and manage resources to achieve team goals
  • Coordinate and work with the global practice and use these resources effectively
  • Successfully achieve established business and professional objectives
  • Organize teams around business development opportunities and manage proposal process ensuring accurate scoping/budgeting of opportunity
  • Actively participate in external committees, boards, chambers to increase visibility of APCO
  • Actively network internally to promote cross-regional networking
  • Leverage positive reputation internally across the APCO network and maintain visibility in the market as a thought leader
  • Establish strong cross-regional network and engage in productive exchanges with colleagues to promote knowledge sharing and business opportunities, promoting the skills of others
  • Confidently lead internal and client meetings, offering knowledgeable observations and suggestions; establishing credibility by insights shared; encouraging and motivating others to communicate ideas
  • Serve as principal client contact; know when to leverage senior level relationships within APCO to further build the relationship within the client organization
  • Actively networks to identify new business prospects as a routine activity
  • Demonstrate an understanding of effective project management,effectively address issues, and understanding how account engagements tie to APCO’s business management
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
  • A passion for being creative and challenging convention
  • Solid knowledge of the digital and creative space and proven experience creating and lead a team that is executing cutting edge ideas
  • Ability to manage clients, projects, teams, and new business
  • Ability to set budgets and deadlines, and advocate for production teams as the client contact
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building a practice
  • Relationships and an interest in networking in the market to bring in new business
  • A team approach that encourages cross-region collaboration
  • Strategic – someone who sees digital as more than simply marketing campaigns
  • Multi-tasking – an ability to work across multiple clients, new business opportunities, and management tasks simultaneously
  • Mentorship skills to help develop junior staff in the market
  • An interest in helping educate internal staff on changing communications and the digital space, and working collaboratively to sell that to clients
QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS:
EDUCATION: University degree
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a consulting or public relations firm; well-developed knowledge of digital strategy and tactics; a passion for creative work; strong project, budget and client management skills; experience pursuing and developing new business

Experience with Healthcare and/or Sustainability clients is preferred.

OFFICE ENVIRONMENT: The physical abilities needed to perform the duties of this position, in addition to the office climate.
  • Location of position is in APCO’s Singapore office
  • Office environment is general office setting
  • Local and international travel required
