Position: Head of Operation/Trade Manager Reporting To: Executive Director Singapore Position Objective -Build and enhance the operation function and capability of INPEX Energy Trading Singapore (hereinafter called 'IETS') -Conduct the smooth Crude oil, Condensate and LPG production by appropriate operation and chartering -Build and maintain the good relationships with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners, Trading team, Middle office team, LNG team, Finance and Administration Team in IETS and relating team in HQ, effectively communicating both in English and in Japanese Managerial Duties & Responsibilities . Works closely with line management in IETS to ensure cohesive and effective teamwork in IETS's business and management. . Develop reliable relationships with the management teams in IETS and relating team in HQ to build and enhance the sustainability and resilience of IETS . Liaise with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners, Trading team, Middle office team, LNG team, Finance and Administration Team and relating teams in our Headquarter in Japan to ensure that all the contractual obligations arising from cargo deals and charter parties are met(both in Japanese and English) . Supervise and lead, guide & develop the operation team and support Risk Management department Skills Requirements . Master Degree in sciences/technical related fields or equivalent . At least 8 years experiences of operation and shipping of Oil & LNG with minimum 3 years experiences of crude oil trading .(required experiences details as below) . In-depth knowledge of operation and shipping of Oil & LNG, crude oil sales contracts, operation contracts and GTC . Hands-on experience in handling vessel chartering contracts and related negotiation, reviewing and renewing of COA (Contract of Affreightment) for AFRA/MR tankers . Hands-on experience in handling upstream contracts (Crude contract, PS contract, Service contract etc) as well as derivative trade and contracts . High level proficiency in Japanese (minimum JPLT 1) is a must to be able to understand written document (legal, contractual) and write extensive report in Japanese the candidate must be able to conduct technical presentation in Japanese to non-English speaking stakeholders and/or attend confidential meeting with our senior management in Japan without help of interpreter. . Effective communication skills with counterparts in HQ and stakeholders . Superb command of English to conduct business without need of translator/interpreter to liaise English speaking buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners Candidate must have the following experiences .At least 8 years experiences of operation and shipping of Oil & LNG with minimum 3 years experiences of oil trading with experiences in Leading a team of crude oil trading and operation in capacity of deputy manager or above. Collaborating with cross-functional teams within an oil trading company to ensure smooth operation and chartering with no interruption in Crude oil, Condensate and LPG production Operation in chartering vessels at market level in an oil trading company Vessel operations, vessel vetting, instructions on loading/discharging/ inspections, demurrage management, cargo insurance matters and related troubleshooting in an oil trading company Liaising with finance team to facilitate smooth invoicing and payment for cargoes, freight and all the operational expenses Liaising with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners etc to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimise demurrage costs. Negotiation with brokers and/or ship owners to charter vessels and drafting the related agreements Claim settlement Investigate, manage and settle demurrage claims, including dispute resolution Attending meetings with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners, and relating internal team, management and/or any other stakeholders to discuss details in English and Japanese without interpreter Providing report of tanker market information (vessel fixtures, etc) to assist chartering and trading (English and Japanese) Record/updating the database related to the transactions (English and Japanese) Handling vessel chartering contracts and related negotiation, reviewing and renewing of COA (Contract of Affreightment) for AFRA/MR tankers and upstream contracts (Crude contract, PS contract, Service contract etc) as well as derivative trade and contracts Professional experiences in futures trading/swap trading of oil relating products Preferred experiences (not requirement) Work experience in Middle office (risk management) a plus Work experience in Japanese company a plus
