Role is based in Tuas yard (islandwide transport provided). Official work hours Mon to Thu - 7.30am to 5.15pm, Fri - 7.30am to 4.15pm
Our client is a large engineering conglomerate with a global presence. It is now looking to hire a HR exec to provide HR business partnering support to its blue collar workers at its Tuas yard.
Responsibilities
Drafts and executes employee surveys or conducts focus groups to gather feedback on HR’s service level with supervision from Senior Business / Yard HR team members.
Proposes and executes Business / Yard annual calendar of employee recreational or engagement initiatives and coordinates with senior HR leaders on companywide engagement events
Proposes and executes ongoing communications to Business / Yard HR employees on events, activities, policies and announcements.
Interacts with employees on any dormitory/ covid testing issues
Responds to difficult employee communications situations for the Business / Yard (e.g. handles employee grievances, implements performance improvement plan), escalating as required
Advices managers of the Business / Yard on HR issues such as conflict resolution, termination proceedings and other employee relation’s issues
Guides and trains Business / Yard managers and conducts manager training workshops on how to align individual KPIs and functional scorecards to business objectives, provide feedback, assign ratings and develop performance improvement plans under supervision of senior team members
Reviews manpower plan to ensure alignment with Business / Yard objectives under supervision from senior team members
Monitors Business / Yard manpower plan achievement of relevant productivity, foreign workers quota and manpower sourcing / recruitment targets (includes sub-contractor workers) and recommend tactical solutions to achieve targets
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources / Business Administration / Law
2 years of experience in an HR related role, preferably in a unionised manufacturing environment preferred but fresh graduates are welcomed to apply
Good knowledge of employment related legislations
Good knowledge of employment, compensation, organisational planning, organisation development, employee relations, training & development, performance management and workforce planning
Good interpersonal skills, ability to engage stakeholders of different levels
Open to work based in Tuas (islandwide transport provided) and working the following official hours Mon to Thu - 7.30am to 5.15pm, Fri - 7.30am to 4.15pm
