Procurement Manager

About our Team
The RELX Global Procurement function is a strategic organization with global responsibilities for the sourcing of direct and indirect spend.

About the Role
This position is responsible for implementing sourcing strategies in the areas of Print (90%) and Logistics (10%). You will be engaging Business Stakeholders to understand the needs of the business and drive collaboration in leveraging spend and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing services for the organization (e.g. printing, warehousing and distribution). Negotiates favorable terms and long-term contracts with suppliers.
• Analyzing spend statistics, market trends and other relevant documentation.
• Developing and implementing strategies for cost savings, risk mitigation, supplier consolidation, service delivery improvements and process efficiencies.
• Managing and developing supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery and value creation based on best practice and business ethics.
• Reviewing purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to organization policy. Discussing defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.

Requirements

• Possess relevant print procurement experience OR commercial/sales experience from the print and publishing sector
• Able to adopt critical thinking, be analytical and detail-oriented.
• Possess knowledge of book printing, distribution & warehousing services
• Able to multi-task and has good time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Good communication skills and networking, able to liaise with business stakeholders and suppliers on regional level.
