Responsibilities:

The Senior Director of Corporate Business Development will be responsible for delivering strategic product & commercial partnerships across all of Asia (from India to Japan) reporting to the General Manager of Global Business Development. To achieve this, the successful candidate will lead the team based in Singapore, China and India. These partnerships will be comprised of companies in the technology industry, with governments, enterprises, and small and medium businesses.

Deal making and negotiating is the cornerstone of the role and regularly the Senior Director will be developing business cases, obtaining complex approvals, and directly negotiating deals with the c-suite, both as an individual and through the team.

This is a technology and product driven role. A background in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Productivity and Operating Systems will be a great value to the candidate as these segments are within the remit of the team\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities.

In addition to driving significant products and commercial results, the Senior Director will be responsible for growing the teams capabilities, setting team priorities, creating an amazing working environment and ensuring every employee delivers their priorities and achieves career objectives.

Internally the Senior Director will build and nurture networks with executive staff and promote the priorities of the supported geographies and partnerships. Most importantly the Senior Director will build relationship with the sales executives that the role supports.

Externally, the Senior Director will grow business networking with c-suite partners, evangelize Microsoft\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities and where required engage with the industry at events.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Leading large multi-level geographic Business Development teams in complex deal-making
  • Planning and Strategy: Business strategy and market development expertise with deep analytical and business modeling skills. Strong 360-degree strategic thinking is critical to success in the role
  • Collaboration: Independently leading cross-disciplinary direct & virtual teams and driving key business development initiatives for complex deals from creation to implementation in partnership with senior external and internal executives
  • Influence: Ability to influence and drive results in a complex and highly ambiguous technical and business environment including ability to communicate and influence all levels from senior executives on down and all functions (including engineering, marketing, sales, services, finance and legal) both internally and externally
  • Key interpersonal traits: Motivation, creativity, adaptability, unquestionable ethics and integrity, bias towards data-based decision making and a willingness to take calculated risks
  • Passion: Create great end to end customer experiences including technology services that open new growth opportunities and innovations in business models and partner alliances
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years in a business discipline which must include experience in business development with additional experience in consulting, marketing, sales, partner management, finance, legal, or relevant product development/software engineering experience in a role that included external-facing engagement with partners
  • Proven 10 plus years of negotiating complex deals with external organizations in the technology segment
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in business or related field or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical on the job experience
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in M&A, structuring, influencing/negotiating, and managing complex commercial deals and investments
  • Background in startups and high-technology industry
  • Background in global cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and related industries
