Job Description


RESPONSIBILITIES
Environmental Services
– Ensure the Home meets and complies with all regulatory licensing and safety requirements involving the undermentioned:
– environmental hygiene (cleaning / sanitizing / infection control),
– pest control,
– security (CCTV, Card Access, Visitor Management System, Nursing Call Bell, Key system, etc),
– landscape design and maintenance,
– laundry (linen handling, stock management),
– waste management (general, bio-hazard, recyclable),
– maintenance of water features,
– pandemic preparedness exercises/trainings and SOP.
– Supervise and ensure outsourced service providers discharge their liabilities according to the terms and conditions of the contracts.
– Verify payment based on services received and to impose penalty, if necessary. Contract Management
– Define scope of contractual works, obtain quotations/tenders, evaluate and recommend the most viable and cost savings offers.
– Oversee and manage the appointed contractors to ensure they conform to the required standards.
– Monitor schedule of contracts and activate the renewal process, when due.
– Verify completion of works prior to payments. Inventory Management
– Maintain a proper storage and dispensing system for supplies – with good housekeeping practices.
– Ensure appropriate documentation for goods issues and receipts.
– Ensure maintenance of adequate stock to meet BNH’s daily operational requirements. IT Support
– Act as a coordinator between CS IT and end users on IT-related matters.
– Ensure IT equipment list is continually updated.
– Facilitate repair/replacement of IT-related equipment and ensure proper documentations are in place. Supervisory Duties
– Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the Laundry and Store Teams.
– Manage the Laundry and Store Teams (including recruitment, discipline and performance appraisal).
– Responsible for updating BNH’s Laundry SOP / workflow processes.
– Inform the Manager of any disciplinary issues / concerns.
– Ensure that both Laundry and Store Teams comply with the necessary workplace safety standards / regulations to prevent any injuries, death, etc from occurring. Administrative Duties
– Develop and continually update all operating procedures, processes, documentation, records for both laundry and store sections to ensure their strict compliance.
– Verify all invoices to ensure timely / accurate payments, and expenses are kept within the approved budget.
– Assist the Manager during budgeting exercises to ensure sufficient funds are catered to repair / replace faulty equipment and to maintain the Home. Others
– Participate as the backup Site Incident Controller (SIC) of the Home’s Company Emergency Response Team (CERT).
– Participate as member of the Home’s Fire Safety Committee.
– Participate and lead in the inter-department work improvement projects (whenever required).
– Cover the duties of the Senior Executive (Operations) in charge of facilities management in his / her absence.
– Any other duties as assigned by the Manager or Head of Centre. JOB REQUIREMENTS
– Minimum Diploma / Degree in Estate / Building management or equivalent.
– 3-4 years of operational experience in estate / building management.
– Relevant experience in Healthcare will be an advantage.
– IT savvy; able to work on the cloud and familiar with MS Office suite.
– A team player.
– Able to multi-task and work independently. WORKING CONDITIONS
– 5-day work week.
– May need to respond and attend to any ad-hoc repairs, incidents, emergencies, etc after office hours.
– Able to work in a nursing home environment i.e. need to operate onsite due to the nature of the work (and not work from home).
